1 Position the Card reader and mark where it should be installed on the wall for
measurements, see Chapter 4.1).
2 Install the mounting plate securely to the wall with four suitable screws. Mounting
screws are not included.
3 Drill a 12 mm – 15 mm diameter hole through the wall for the communication
cable.
4 Pull the cable through the wall.
5 Connect the cable from the Card reader to the
Relay box see, Chapter 6.2.
6 To fasten the front cover you must insert and
slide it downwards until it is aligned with the
box and the hole for the set screw. Mount the set
screw using a 20 Torx Security driver. Cover
the set screw by mounting the plastic plug.
For removal reverse the operation.

The minimum distances shown in the above picture are to allow easy access with tools and
to connect LAN cable for online installations.
¹
If the load current is less than the specified value, the lifetime of the relay may be
shortened due to oxidation of the contacts. In these cases it is recommended to add a
resistor in parallel with the load.
²
Inductive or capacitive load is allowed, but will reduce the lifetime.
An External DC power supply must be connected to the Relay box for proper operation.
It is recommended to use the included Heating Element. When the heating element is
configured it will always function. At 60 degrees Celsius the heating element automatically
switches off.
In high humid climate installations, the heating element is mandatory to configure and
activate.
If you want the system to operate when the Main Power fails, the external power supply
must be connected to an UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).
Please note that the reader will not work in this period. If this is required, a power supply
with back-up power (e.g. UPS) is needed.
Note 2
Check that the Remote Controller is connected to the external power supply before the lock
program is loaded. The Remote Controller will not operate as expected if you try to load a
program or operate a card if it is without power.
Important
The jumpers on the Heating element must be connected according to the output voltage for
the external power supply.
Important
Please follow instructions for cable lengths in Table 11.
Use one of the approved cable types. This cable consists of 3 twisted pairs, with a common
foil shield. Connect the twisted pairs as shown in the table below. Connect the non
insulated shield wire to terminal 7.
* Note
Please be careful not to mix the three black wires. This can be accomplished by strapping
the two wires for each pair together with a cable tie immediately after stripping the outer
insulation.
Note.
The maximum cable length between the Card reader and the Relay box is 20 meter (65”).
Se the specification in the table below:
5.2.3 Outputs
1 The Card Reader is mounted at a suitable height and the side walls are in a vertical
position.
2 The Relay Box is mounted correctly in a secured area.
3 All cables are properly fixed and located either onto the wall or in surface conduits.
4 No cables are pinched.
5 Door and locking devices are operating properly.
6 All holes are filled or sealed
7 The power consumption is not higher than what the Power Supply provides.
(see Power supply requirements in chapter 5).
8 The function of all external devices.
