MUSIC
I want to thank everyone for coming to our Christmas concerts last December. I
had a great 0me working with your children preparing for the event, and the kids
made me really proud with how well they performed and represented the school.
Way to go, everyone!

There are many more ac0vi0es planned for the rest of the school year. The grades
3 - 6 students are star0ng a unit with the recorder. In the mean0me, please do not
purchase one, as there are many ranges of quality, and I want to be sure everyone
has the same type. I will be able to supply one to your son or daughter through the
school. A leDer will be going home with details.

And, of course, stay tuned for informa0on going home over the next few weeks
about the Divisional Dance, Instrumental, and Choral Fes0vals.

On a personal note, I will be taking a couple weeks off for gall bladder surgery in
April. We are fortunate enough to have Mrs. Gilbart covering for me in the music
room while I am away. She has worked as a music educator in the division for many
years, and your children are leE in very able hands.

Rock on!
Mr. Smith
