Cool Beans
I takes a very skilled roaster to be able to roast a good
batch of coffee beans. Roasting dark while still maintaing
the flavor notes and undertones specific to the region is
a difficult skill to master. Luckily, our baristas at Revolry
have mastered this craft through years of experimentation
and documented coffee science. Our Revolry “Pistole”
blend, is perfect flavor combination. Sourced from two
origins, Ethiopia and Guatemala, this blend is a match
made in heaven.

Our story
The journey began in KansasCity in 1989. I was
working as a barista at Starbucks, while going to
school at a local community college. I quickly
became enamored with coffee and its effects, but i
realized the process had been steamlined. I
switched shops, insteand began working as a
barista in suburb south of downtown KC. The coffee
shop was Black Dog Coffeehouse, a coffee business
focusing on quality coffee. It was here that learned
the processes it takes to develope a good cup of
coffee or double shot of espresso. At the same
time, I was in school to be a graphic designer at a
local community college. As my time in school
came to a close, i realized my real passion was
coffee. I set out to fulill my destiny, and I ventured
out to pursue perfection in the area of fine coffee. I
moved to Portland OR, with the intent of opening
a coffee shop worthy of the drink itself.I went back
to the origins of coffee, I researched to historical
reaons for the popularity on coffee.

At Revolry, we take the utmost care to ensure that
your coffee, espresso, or latte is the absolute best
it can possibly be. Trained by years of experience,
our veteran baristas have a keen eye for
perfection.

Although originating in the early centuries A.D.,
coffee has served as a catalyst for several
revolutions, as well as being a pivotal beverage for
several major religions. The one that caught my
attention was the french revolution, which was
rumored to have begun in a coffeehouse in
Versailles. This drink of energy, black gold, loaded
with caffeine could have been the very drink that
kept the angry peasants awake and vigilant as the
stormed the Bastille. We may never know.
And so inpired by our new found knoweledge, we
created a name. Taking the “Revo” from the word
“revolt”, and merging it with the word “Revelry”,
Revolry Coffee Co. This embodies our revolution
against crappy coffee, and our continual Revolry in
the delicious libation.
And as they say, the rest is history.
We currently serve coffee via three locations across
Portland.
Shots of espresso are not pulled unless they are up
to par, and coffee wonʼt be serverd if we wouldnʼt
drink it ourself.
