JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Senior Services Officer Department: Members


Code: ID_Senior Membership & Pension Officer Location: Main Office
Salary: G8/G9 Rate: $31,339/$45,065 p.a max

Position Primary Objective:


To provide highest quality service to all members.

Duties & Responsibilities:


1. Attend to members attaining 55years and who elect to join the Pension Scheme.
2. Assess entitlements and process Benefit Payments for all members opting to withdrawal their
contributions on their entitlement dates. Ensure that all relevant and appropriate documents are
provided for processing benefit payments,
3. Investigate, update and maintain the pension payroll to ensure that deaths and inactive statuses of
Pensioners and Beneficiaries are accounted for, adjustments are properly recorded and that all pension
payments are correct.
4. Conduct follow up every 6 months to determine pensioners and beneficiaries active statuses and ensure
recovery of all overpaid pension payments detected from these follow ups.
5. Check that all withdrawals and benefit payments are correctly processed,
6. Attend to queries and all correspondences related to the Services Division.
7. Check and approve new registration with Imaging System as well as approving and checking all
adjustments made on members’ files. [NPF2, NPF3 & NPF8]
8. Investigate any issues or complaints received from members and refer reports of investigation to
management for information and decision.
9. Verify and correct any errors arising through withdrawals, registrations and pension payments processes.
10. Assist in formulating and preparation of all budgets relative to the Services Division, i.e. pension &
withdrawal budgets.
11. Prepare both internally required reports per month and per quarter and externally required reports
quarterly for the Services Division.
12. Prepare submissions for Management/Board on issues related to Retiree Pensions and Membership.
13. Any other duties as directed.

Selection Criteria:
1. Minimum tertiary qualification of Degree in Commerce majoring in Accounting or Management.

2. At least three (3) years of relevant experience. (Essential)
3. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Samoan. (Essential)
4. Must be computer literate in various Microsoft programmes especially in Ms Word, Excel and Power
Point. (Essential)
5. Must have excellent leadership and time management skills. (Essential)
6. Must be able to commit and work under pressure. (Essential)
7. Sound knowledge of legislations, regulations and policies guiding the Fund or ability to acquire the
same. (Desirable)
