Assessment on the development and sustainability of Lasang Secret Adventure Park as an
ecotourism site destination in Initao, Misamis Oriental”, Bachelor of Science in Tourism
College of Hotel and Restaurant Management/Tourism. Iligan Medical Center College,
Pala-o, Iligan City, School Year 2017-2018. Adviser: Ms. Ashley B. Pulog
This study is a sufficient effort to assess of the development and sustainability aspect of

“Lasang Secret Adventure Park” as an ecotourism site destination in Initao, Misamis Oriental.

To achieve this study the researchers aims to know the following: How do respondents evaluate

the present status of Lasang Secret Adventure Park, What are the respondents’ views on

operation of the sustainability of Lasang Secret Adventure Park, What are the strategies of

Department of Tourism (DOT) in promoting the Lasang Secret Adventure Park, What are the

policies done by the Local Government Unit (LGU) for the sustainability of Lasang Secret

Adventure Park.

Generally, the respondents were the visitors who came to visit the said destination, the

staffs and the local people who are living in the vicinity. All of these respondents were selected

through random sampling. Each tourist has the chance to be part as a research participant upon

their willingness and convenience. Based on our data gathered, the following results had been

presented as to the assessment of “Lasang Secret Adventure Park” in terms of the facilities and

amenities which the respondents partially rated “good” as a positive outcome to this study.

Furthermore, the common activities conclude that swimming is one of the tourist interest that

gained the highest percentage among the results which followed by cliff diving and caving

adventure. In such evaluation on the opinions and perceptions of the end-user respondents of

“Lasang Secret Adventure Park” agreed that the place is convenient and accessible for the

tourist transportation in which they consider the place as an eco-friendly destination. In

addition, the over-all opinions and perceptions of the respondents agreed about the upcoming

development plan that will build infrastructure such as eco-lodging, dormitory, function rooms

and business center with the assistance of the Misamis Oriental government sectors and

solicitors. Lastly, respondents believe that the effective local partnership between government

can help reduce the hassle of tourist and will improve tourist enjoyment.
Along with this, the following are some important recommendations; The “Lasang

Secret Adventure Park” Staff must take account on maintenance and sustainability of some

physical structures and facilities for long term durability and safety in such activities used.

Hence, tourist must be aware and responsive on any rules and regulations imposed wherein the

vicinity to take responsibility of their garbage or leftovers to be disposed properly to maintain

cleanliness that helps to preserve eco-system and the environment. In addition, the local people

and local government must cooperate and support in its promotion and improvement on any

activities concerning to the sustainable development of “Lasang Secret Adventure Park”. Thus,

significant recommendation will conduct for further study specifically in making a

comprehensive development plan of “Lasang Secret Adventure Park”.
