karate gi stands in front of a board ready to attempt to snap it. The board is suspended
between two cinder blocks as the kid tries every move to break the board, but the board
will not budge. Finally, after falling on the floor, he sits up and leans on the board with his
elbow, chin resting on his palm with the look of frustration on his face. The board snaps
and he falls again with a thud and dust puffs up.

Additional Notes on this Character:

Razag was just walking home when his village was attacked. One moment there was piece, the next the
afternoon sky was filled with shadow, then screams. The Order was ruthless, they materialized out of
the darkness and struck down anyone they could find with ruthless efficiency. For a moment Razag
could only gape as he saw his people, his friends, his family be slaughtered. A child sprinted out of a
nearby hut, twisting his head from side to side is utter terror until his eyes fell on Razag. Something like
relief flashed in his eyes as he began running towards Razag, his name on the child’s lips. A few feet
before he reached Razag the boy stumbled, tripping over his own feet and landing face first in the dirt.
Razag snapped out of his trance and ran to help the boy, only to find the reason why he had fallen. A
black shuriken gleamed wickedly between his shoulder blades. Razag stumbled back in disgust as he saw
the blood continue to spurt from the wound as the boy’s own heart pumped his life blood from his
body. The one who had thrown the shuriken noticed Razag and readied another to end his next victim.
Razag did the only thing he could think to do, he turned from the dying child and sprinted towards the
edge of the village. A low hum filled the air and on instinct Razag threw himself to the ground as a dark
blur flew past, right where his neck had just been moments before. Scrambling to his feet, Razag ran
until he thought his lungs would burst, finally collapsing in front of a worn down tool shed. He could run
no further, so in a desperate move he crawled to the shed and shut the door with trembling fingers. He
waited, trying desperately to control the hiss of his breathing. Five minutes passed, ten, then a
silhouette emerged from the artificial night. The shadow bent down a few feet from Razag’s hiding
place, studying the disturbed dirt where I had collapsed. Slowly he turned towards the shed. Razag felt
his heart shudder to a halt in his chest. The living shade stalked forward, reading the signs of the earth
that pointed directly to the tool shed, to Razag. Razag found himself paralyzed at the thought of what
would happen the moment that door would open, what had happened to his entire village. He knew he
should be reciting the final prayers to the goddess of rain and spring to bring his soul to the land of
eternal harvest, but he found that he couldn’t remember the words. The man reached the door. Ever so
slowly he reached towards the handle, preparing to rip away the last barrier between Razag and the
afterlife. Razag shut his eyes and prepared for the pain as the worn wood ground its protest. Then…
nothing. Razag opened one eye to glance at his executioner, wondering why he did not simply finish his
task. Only to find the man’s gaze full of confusion as he started Razag, no, stared behind Razag. The
shade stepped half a foot into the shed, twisting his neck to take in the whole interior. Then, with a
frustrated sigh, he shut the door. Razag was so shocked he stood there for another ten minutes, staring
at where the man had run back to his Order, utterly bewildered as to why he was still alive. When Razag
reached to push open the door of the shed, planning to quietly escape into the large forest he village
bordered, he nearly gasped at what he saw. The door opened by itself, with seemingly no one holding it
open. But Razag could feel the rough wood beneath his hand that very moment. Pulling away, Razag
tilted his head down to gaze at his still trembling body, only to find empty air where his legs, chest, his
entire body should have been.
