Figure 2. User satisfaction ratings of SLIS and/or non-SLIS students
Figure 3. Services enjoyed most by respondents
DATA SOURCES
The class ended up interviewing 45 students throughout the prescribed period. About 62.2% of
the respondents are from the library’s parent institution, SLIS. College of Social Sciences and
Philosophy students make up 11.1% of the data pool, just like students from the College of
Engineering. The remaining percentage are made up of students from other colleges.
Figure 4. Population grouped by college of SLIS library patrons.
Only 6.67% of the respondents are graduate students— the rest are all undergraduate students.
It may also be worth noting that 13% of the respondents happen to be first-timers in the SLIS
library.
DATA COLLECTION METHODS
Students of the class went to the library and interviewed the patrons one-on-one and asking
them a set of questions from a guide formulated by the class collectively.
DATA INTERPRETATION METHOD
The data collected was interpreted qualitatively. This is due to the specificity of the respondent
population and the manner of data gathering. This method also helps so that the results are
richer and more precise.
