RESOLUTION HUMBLY REQUESTING THE HONORABLE GOVERNOR JOSE MA. R.

ZUBIRI JR. FOR THE ROAD MAINTENANCE OF KUYA TO DAGUMBAAN

PROVINCIAL ROAD OF MARAMAMAG, BUKIDNON.

WHEREAS, Section 17 of Republic Act No 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of
the Philippines declaration of the basic principles of the Province to ensure delivery of basic services
to wit: Infrastructure facilities intended to serve the need of the residents of the province and which
are funded out of provincial funds including, but not limited to, provincial roads and bridges, inter-
municipal waterworks, drainage and sewerage, flood control, and irrigation system, reclamation
projects, and similar facilities;

WHEREAS, it is the annual exercise of the Province to enforce provincial road maintenances in Kuya
to Dagumbaan Road;
WHEREAS, Kuya to Dagumbaan Road is servicing not only the two adjoining Barangays of Kuya
and Dagumbaan but also contiguous Barangays of La Rojas, Bagong Silang, Panalsalan and other
barangays of Valencia City;

WHEREAS, there is a need to pass this resolution to make remember the Honorable Governor to
enforce the maintenance of the Kuya to Dagumbaan Road.
RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved HUMBLY REQUESTING THE HONORABLE
GOVERNOR JOSE MA. R. ZUBIRI JR. FOR THE ROAD MAINTENANCE OF KUYA TO
DAGUMBAAN PROVINCIAL ROAD OF MARAMAMAG, BUKIDNON.
RESOLUTION HUMBLY REQUESTING THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR HONORABLE JOSE
V. OBEDENCIO TO GRANT A LICENSE FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
OF DAGUMBAAN COCKPIT HALL WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE
SANGGUNIANG BAYAN OF MARAMAG, BUKIDNON.

WHEREAS, Presidential Decree 499 otherwise known as Cockfighting law of 1974 expressly provides
that cockfighting is still the popular, traditional and customary form of recreation and entertainment
among Filipinos during legal holidays, local fiestas, agricultural, commercial and industrial fairs,
carnivals or expositions ;
WHEREAS, embodied in Section 6 of the same Presidential Decree that city and municipal mayors
are authorized to issue licenses for the operation and maintenance of cockpits, and that only one cockpit
shall be allowed in each city or municipality, except that in cities or municipalities with a population
of over one hundred thousand, two cockpits may be established, maintained and operated;
WHEREAS, in our municipality only one cockpit arena is presently licensed, operated and
maintained, located in the municipality proper which is not accessible to small time bettor whose
purpose is for entertainment to deviate from its ordinary living in the farm;
WHEREAS, our Municipality has a recent population of ________________, which clearly allows us
to grant the establishment of one more cockpit arena which will be named Dagumbaan Cockpit Hall.
WHEREAS, the proposed Dagumbaan Cockpit Hall will be operated, maintained, and situated in
Baranga Dagumbaan proper which will be geographically suitable not only for Barangay Dagumbaan
alone but also for other contiguous Barangays including but not limited to Kuya, La Rojas, Bagong
Silang, Panalsalan, Kiharong, Kisanday and other neighboring Barangays of the Municipality of
Pangantucan to wit: New Eden, Adtuyon, Jarque, and Portulin; and Barangays of the City Of Valencia
to wit: Lourdes and Guinoyuran.

WHEREAS, there is a need to pass this resolution in order to negate the illegality of small-scale
cockfighting as an entertainment of the area and therefore used as a vehicle for the preservation and
perpetuation of native Filipino heritage and thereby enhance our national identity.
RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved HUMBLY REQUESTING THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR
HONORABLE JOSE V. OBEDENCIO TO GRANT A LICENSE FOR THE OPERATION
AND MAINTENANCE OF DAGUMBAAN COCKPIT HALL WITH THE CONCURRENCE
OF THE SANGGUNIANG BAYAN OF MARAMAG, BUKIDNON.
