1.0 Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Kverneland plough. You have chosen a product
which will give you trouble free service and performance to the highest standards expected.
Should you require after sales, service or the supply of spare parts, please contact your local
Kverneland dealer.
All Kverneland products are developed and tested in co-operation with farmers and institutions
with the purpose to secure the most optimal function and safety in operation.
For your safety, we ask you to read through this operator's manual before you begin to use the
equipment.
Good luck!

Please ensure that all equipment is mounted correctly and that it is not damaged. Also, check that
the hydraulic hoses are mounted such that they are long enough for free hydraulic cylinder
movement and that they do not become trapped during implement operation.
When leaving the Kverneland factory all new equipment is lubricated with the correct kind of
grease. Only use quality grease recommended.
Check that all nuts and bolts are firmly tightened (look at chapter 21.0 Tightening torque), this is
very important after the first hours in use.
On large fully mounted reversible ploughs it is recommended to replace the cross shaft after
approx. 1000 km of transport operation. This is for safety reasons in the unlikely event a failure
should occur.
Hydraulic system:
The hydraulic system is working under high pressure and is therefore potentially dangerous. It is
very important that all hoses and connections are checked frequently for leakage and external
damage.
The hydraulic hoses should not be connected to, or removed from the hydraulic system on the
tractor unless the oil pressure in both the tractor and implement has been released.
In accordance with the EU-directive, all hydraulic hoses should be exchanged with new genuine
Kverneland replacements after 6 years. Porous and defective hoses must always be replaced
immediately.
Oil leakage from damaged hoses and connections can cause fatal injur y and possible fire
risk.

6.0 Description
The plough has a main frame built in sections and can be extended from 2 to 5 furrows. The plough
can be supplied with a working width of 12”, 14” or 16”.
The leg are fixed or can have a semi-automatic reset mechanism for use in stony soil.

7.0 Tractor
The lower links should NOT be stabilized during ploughing. The rear wheel setting (between
inside faces of tyres) should be from 100 to 140 cm, the front wheel setting 0 to 10 cm greater (fig.
2). This may vary as it is dependant upon the tractor and soil type. When using 4WD tractors, inside
wheel settings should be equal on both front and rear axles. Ensure the tractor is adequatly
weighted to give better control.
Cat. I (Ø22 mm) 720 and 825 mm standard, Cat. II (Ø28mm) 825 and 935 mm and Cat. III (Ø36 mm)
965 mm are available.
Use the correct length of cross shaft (fig. 3) for correct linkage geometry.
Regardless of wheel widths, the first furrow width adjustment can be adjusted without affecting the
pull line between the tractor and plough. The headstock mast should be moving sideways to allow
the top link to run parallel with the furrow edge.

First, remove bolt 1 (fig. 6). Fasten swivel pin 2 with the spring and tension levers using roll pin 3
and screw 4. Then attach the compression and release linkages (fig. 8). Raise the leg assembly and
the plough body and attach the release linkage to the frame using bolt 1 (fig. 7). The existing bolt
on the plough is too short and must be replaced with a longer bolt. Adjust bearing pin 6 to give
minimum play between the leg assembly and the crossbrace plates. This is most readily
accomplished if the bolt is first tightened until it becomes difficult to move the leg assembly. Then
loosen the nut 1/4 to 1/2 turn so the leg assembly can move freely. Then hook the tension levers
over the pin 2 (fig. 7), and lower the leg assembly and the plough body. NB! Be careful, it latches
in lock at the end position.
Check that the spacer on bolt 1 (fig. 7) is fitted. Ensure the plough is correctly supported.
The reset spring can be adjusted to two positions, giving a release force of 2,500 kg and 3,600 kg
respectively, measured at the blade tip (fig. 9). Lubricate the reset mechanism regularly to ensure
that it continues to work safely and effectively.

The disc coulter is adjusted so that 1/3 of the diameter (D) cuts into the ground. When 2/3 of the
disc coulter is above the ground you will avoid the disc from stopping, (fig. 12). The distance
between the coulter and the share should be min. 5 cm. When working in stony soil, the distance
should be increased.
The distance between the coulter and the landside can be adjusted by loosening bolt (A) and
turning the arm for disc coulter (E), fig. 10. The distance should be 1 - 4 cm (fig. 13).
The difference from standard disc coulter is that the depth adjustments only can be doing by
loosening bolt (A, fig. 11) and that the lower bracket arm for the blade of the disc coulter is springy.
The spring (C) gives the disc coulter the opportunity to move in to the hight by contact of stones
and varying hardness in the soil.

The skimmer is mounted to the beam as shown in fig. 14 and fig. 15. The depth is adjusted by
loosening the bolt B. Working depth should be 3 - 5 cm.
11.2 Trashboard
The trashboard (fig. 16) should be placed with the front edge close to the mouldboard, the rear
edge should be adjusted according to the ploughing depth.
There are two adjusting holes in the bracket for the trashboard, one for deep ploughing and one
for shallower ploughing (A, fig. 16), in addition there is the oblong track for stepless adjusting.
NB!
To avoid uneven furrows, all the equipment on the bodies must be adjusted equally.

On ploughs fitted with a round cross shaft, the handle should be adjusted so that the link arms have
an equal angle to the tractor.
When this has been done, the width of the front furrow must be measured. If the front furrow is
wider than the others, loosen the cross shaft and move the plough closer to the ploughed area. If
the front furrow is too narrow loosen the cross shaft and move the plough correspondingly towards
the unploughed area.
On ploughs fitted with a square cross shaft the rear turnbuckle is used to adjust the angle of the
tractor’s link arms. The other one (B) is to adjust the width of the front furrow.

15.0 Starting
Fig. 28. When the plough is set for normal ploughing, the start can be done without any adjustment,
except for adjusting the depth.
16.0 Finishing
Make sure that the remaining land is parallel. Fig. 29 shows finishing with 3 furrows and larger
ploughs.
The finish begins when the remaining land is one furrow width less than twice the number of
furrows on the plough (for 3 furrow plough - 5 furrow widths, for 4 furrow plough - 7 furrow
widths). The last body is adjusted to work at about 1/2 depth.
The right hand lift rod of the tractor is lengthened so that the front body is working at full depth
(D). On completion, the beams are set to work at 90º to the land being ploughed. The front bodies
plough the unploughed ground and the rear body cuts the base furrow to its full depth (E).
Finishing with 2 furrow ploughs begins when approximately five furrow widths are left. This is
done in three turns, where the two last runs are ploughed in the same direction.
To attain a good result of setting and finishing, it is an advantage always to have a depth wheel and
rear disc fitted to the plough.

During the ploughing season the plough should be lubricated daily to prevent the ingress of water
and dirt to the bearings and moving parts. NB! It is very important to lubricate well after power
washing. All nipples should be lubricated after being washed.
When ploughing has been completed, the plough must be cleaned and lubricated with Tectyl or
acid free grease.
Maintenance
All nuts and bolts must always be firmly tightened. This is very important after the first hours in
use.
The wearing parts of the plough should be kept in good condition and not too much worn, since
this will affect the ploughing quality.
One rubber wheel dimension is available for the depth wheel arms: 6.00 x 9. The pneumatic
pressure should be adjusted according to the table below:
