Half a league, half a league
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
‘Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!’ he
said.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!".
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
Someone had blundered:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
The soldiers were on their horses, charging forward.
(askar- askar mara ke depan)
They were moving towards the battlefield which was
frightening and deadly (mereka menuju ke medan
perang yang menakutkan)
There were 600 horsemen in the brigade. (ada 600
penunggang berkuda dalam pasukan)
The commander of the brigade ordered the horsemen to
move forward (Ketua pasukan member arahan kepada
pasukan berkudanya untuk maju ke depan)
The Light Brigade was ordered to seize the enemy guns.
(Arahan diberi untuk merampas senjata musuh)
The 600 soldiers rode into the battle even though it
could possibly end their lives. (600 askar menuju ke
medan perang walaupun mungkin berakhir dengan
kematian )
The commander repeated the command to move
forward. (Ketua pasukan mengulang arahan untuk
mara ke depan)
Were any of the soldiers scared? (adakah mana-
mana askar yang takut)
None of the soldiers lost their courage even though
they knew that someone had made a mistake. (Tiada

However, it is not the soldiers’ place to talk back to

They also did not question the order from their

Their duty was just to carry out the command given to

STANZA 3
Cannon to right of them, The soldiers were surrounded by enemy cannon
Cannon to left of them, from all sides. Defeat was clear for the soldiers. (
Cannon in front of them Mereka di kelilingi oleh meriam musuh, kekalahan
sudah pasti)
Volleyed and thundered; The firing of cannon all around made a thundering
sound. ( bunyi meriam yang sangat bingit dan kuat)
Stormed at with shot and shell, Bullets and explosives were fired violently like a
storm. (peluru dan letupan dilepaskan berterusan)
Boldly they rode and well, Despite the attacks, the soldiers rode on with great
courage. ( walaupun diserang, mereka teruskan
