UNIT - I
1. a) Discuss the need for modulation. Why the carrier frequency should be more than the message 6 Marks
signal frequency? Explain.
b) Explain the operation of Demodulation of AM Signals using Envelope detector with the help 8 Marks
of circuit diagram and wave forms.
2. a) Find the modulation index and draw the envelope of an amplitude modulated wave with full 6 Marks
carrier for a square wave input of 2Vp-p, 1KHz as message signal and 3Cos(2π1000t) as
carrier signal is applied to AM modulator.
b) Explain DSBSC demodulation using COASTAS receiver. 8 Marks
