STORAGE AND BULK HANDLING

Contractor shall consider all facilities necessary for safe, loading, unloading, storage, transportation
within the PLANTS measuring, preparation for process, waste disposal, automatic weighing,
packing and handling. Contractor shall provide proper technical documentation complete with
system schematic diagrams for evaluation, System information must be provided as compatible
electronic signals for communication with the COMPLEX data acquisition system. The design of
storage, warehouse, bulk materials handling systems of the products of the PLANTS shall be
performed by Contractor. The Contractor shall propose the appropriate technical information, design
requirements and type of system for handling of each product at stage of bid enquiry and also when
performing design engineering.

General Requirements & Safety Measures

The system shall be designed with prime consideration for personal and environmental safety,
minimization of spillage, prevention of material degradation in handling and storage, simplicity in
operation and maintenance, safety during run time and failure.

Bulk Storage

The bulk material must be stored in a proper manner so that following can be achieved:
1. It will be easy to store & empty.
2. The material will be protected from environmental effects and would not be degraded.
3. The capacity will be enough for smooth operation of PLANTS for a justifiable agreed time.
4. The storage method will reduce the potential for explosion and ideally will nullify the chance.
5. The storage medium inside could be accessible, and maintenance may be carried out inside when
necessary.
6. Material entry and exit could be carried through mechanism which will not cause clogging in
normal operating conditions. Application of valves such as ball and plug type should be avoided,
preference is given to the gate type or butterfly valves.

Metallic bins & silos when used, shall preferably be made of graded steel to avoid erosion as well as
internal and external corrosion.

Stored material level shall be continuously monitored through a well established level measurement
method for avoidance of overflow and running out of stock.
