Sir, Greetings from India.

I am Dr Jerry Joseph OFS, a new entrant for the ICFL course, starting FRAN 402, with a kind grand of
scholarshp by the University for the same. (Thanks to Diane Rombouts for making it possible). My
study materials arrived today.

I am a medical doctor by profession. After my medical graduation (MBBS) from St John's Medical
College Bangalore India. I did my Postgraduate degree in Anesthesia (DNB: Diplomate of National
Board), from Government Medical College Kozhikode India; thereafter a PG Dip in Palliative
Medicine from Edithcowan University Australia and another in Hospital Mgmt from India. I was in
ministry of health, working in State of Qatar and was able to initiate a Palliative unit, along with others,
for the first time in that country. After being there for little less than 7years, resigned my job came to
India. Currently doing free pallative care service for anyone in need. These includes, teaching for
medical students, doctors, nursing staff and volunteers; outpatient care, home care and day care.
Since last 3 years a free standing pallaitve care has been set up. (www.home-of-hope.org).

I am currently National Formator of the National Council of Secular Franciscan Order in

India.(http://ofsindia.weebly.com) These responsibility is held since September 2013. Currently an
attempt is being undertaken to build a unified, goal oriented formation programe for all states in India.
This was presented in a conference of all Major Superiors of first order and TOR in India, in August
2014. (Draft copy of this is attached for your suggestion).

I will keep in touch and would like to utilise your vast expertise on Secular Franciscan and elements of
Franciscan spirituality, for the betterment of myself, and the renovation of all levels of the Secular
Franciscan family in India.

Looking forward for a life long partnership, not lilmiting to this module of study...
