Standards: 10.3.1: Analyze why England was the first country to industrialize.

OBJECTIVES Students will be able to explain why the Industrial Revolution started in
: England by completing a graphic organizer chart.

DO-NOW: Students will be given time to complete the warm-up for the day. After

-Teacher: Will finish Peardeck presentation on Why England?

19 min -Students: Will take notes on the Peardeck presentation in a
Record/Reduce/Reflect format. Periodically students will answer
questions about the presentation through Peardeck and will be
asked to discuss these with a partner before looking at answers
as a class.

-Teacher: Will give students visual metaphor chart and will
discuss directions as to how it should be completed.
-Students: Will complete visual metaphor chart and discuss
with a partner.

CLOSING:
Student’s will reflect on their work for the day and complete
5 min the Exit Ticket.

ASSESSMENT: Formative, informal assessment will take place as students


answer questions through Quizzizz, participate in the Peardeck
activity, discussions with classmates, and whole class
discussion, and complete the visual metaphor chart.

MODIFICATIONS: Quizzizz is a great tool to help enforce conceptual redundancy


and help learners at every level see growth. The Peardeck
presentation allows all students to have a voice in answering
questions, compare their answers to their classmates, increase
their knowledge of the content, and practice academic
vocabulary, which is beneficial for all learners especially Els
and students with special needs.

presentation, paper for Record/Reduce/Reflect note taking
format, Visual Metaphor Chart
