Additional Notes
The following grading criteria is to be used:

1 “This seems to have been adequately covered”

Evidence of competence demonstrates adequate coverage and meets the standard required for a Chartered Chemical
Engineer.

2 “Some good, almost sufficient, experience but more required”

Evidence of competence demonstrates reasonable coverage but the candidate needs either a little more experience or
training, or the opportunity to operate at the required level. Any required experience, training or opportunity should be
formally recorded in the 'My Success Plan' as well as in the Competence and Commitment Report.

3 “Some experience but more required”

There has been some training undertaken or experience gained in this area but more is required. A start has been made on
this skill area, which could be built upon if the trainee is being assessed in the first year.
4 “A little experience but much more required”
This area has only been touched on by the trainee.

5 “No experience”
This area has never been covered by the trainee.
Instructions
The following instructions are to be followed for the completion of this form:

1) A suitable meeting time with the Lead Process Engineer and Graduate Engineer is to be set up upon hire to outline 2
year graduate training plan.

2) Table 1 gives guidance as to what the graduate process engineer is required to cover as part of the training duration and
examples of how it can be covered in the workplace. This can be used for discussion of progress with the graduate on a 6
month basis.

3) Before completion of this form graduate should be registered as an Associate Member of the IChemE and register for
'Mycareerpath'.

4) The Matrix form is to be completed by the Lead Process Engineer in discussions with the Graduate Process Engineer.

5) Any additional training identified for the graduate during discussions is to be documented on the 'Areas' tab.

6) Any comments from both the Lead Process Engineer and graduate is to be documented on the 'Areas' tab.

7) The form is to be signed off by both parties and filed for the next scheduled review.

Lead Process Engineer Comments
Vicard has completed 6 months as a graduate in training and has been assisting with the development of key process engineering
deliverables such as line lists, line sizing calculations and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. He has shown significant growth over the
past six months, which is commendable.
I would recommend that he is sent on T-BOSIET training as soon as the current in-house projects are ramped down and further on in the
year for the Project Management Essentials course to bolster his understanding of project life cycles, interpretation of schedules and cost
control.

Graduate Comments
I believed that I have learnt a lot from the past 6 months and will continue to learn (as well as self-learn) and maintain my work ethic,
ambitious/positive attitude to progress quickly. Furthermore, under this matrix, I have a much clearer idea on my path forward and will
improve with time under the guidance of Dave and the Process team as one of my main goals presently is to progress quickly and efficiently
by following this matrix and keeping a log of my work experiences.
