This is my 8th year working as an on-air Meteorologist, and I also have experience
in the newsroom as a fill in MMJ and sports VJ. During the last 2 and a half years, I have
been the evening meteorologist at KX News for the southern half of our hyphenated
DMA. Before Bismarck-ND, I spent some time in the Midwest at KWQC TV-6, after
getting my start in Central Louisiana.
After starting at KALB-TV (Alexandria, LA) I was quickly promoted to Morning
Meteorologist. During that time I became the primary graphics builder for the weather
team. I also designed and assembled the KALB online Hurricane Center and Weather
page. I received recognition for outstanding work in both my profession and the
community. I am an LAPBA award winning journalist and was honored as “Cenla's
Favorite TV Personality” by a local magazine.
I believe that work does not stop at the station’s front door. I am one to root
myself in the community and participate in as many public events as possible.
Volunteering my time, emceeing events and school visits are ways to put myself in the
community and build a connection with our viewers while representing the station during
my free time.
Understanding that viewers have become technologically driven I aggressively
maintain a social media presence with frequent & regular postings to the station’s
website, News App and Social Media pages and I make myself available to viewers via
Facebook, Twitter, & Google+.
I feel that I possess the tools to make a smooth transition into any work
environment. I am well versed and comfortable with using WSI’s Max, Max Storm,
Prism and Livewire. I also have experience working with ENPS and INews.
