Theme Forces the attacking model.
Glossary of Abbreviations Whip Snap (★Attack) - low RNG, good POW magic attack. If it hits an
enemy model, this model or a friendly model nearby may advance 3".

How can I help? House Shyeel Magister in a nutshell
How to Edit The Magister is a support solo with all-around useful abilities. His primary function is his
Donate use of Whip Snap, which he uses to grant extra movement to another more threatening
model. He can also act as a source of knockdown, either via Force Bolt or Combo Smite.
Other
Mk I Archive The Magister is extremely capable in melee combat and has powerful attacks and high
Terrain Archive MAT. Two power gauntlets with Beat Back can be used to push problematic targets out of
the way to open up charge lanes or clear out enemy light infantry. More importantly,
however, Combo Smite deals significant damage and slams the target, knocking them down.
Knocked down models are easy pickings for the rest of the army, especially heavy hitters
like the Mage Hunter Assassin.

Force Barrier makes the Magister more resistant to ranged attacks. It's a fairly minor
bonus, but can potentially keep him alive while he's hiding behind another model due to the
blast damage immunity.

Combos & Synergies

Rahn - his feat enhances both magic attacks significantly, greatly increasing the
chance of Critical Knockdown.
Ossyan - since the Magister is immune to blast damage, Shatter Storm will let you

 freely detonate models without any consequences.
Garryth - loves Whip Snap to get him closer to his target, or move back after
shooting
Thyron - on feat turn, the Magister is much more likely to pull off his Combo Smite,
also benefits from Storm Rager, and Thyron loves being Whip Snapped closer to
enemy casters
Sphinx - Runespear Cannon makes hitting targets much easier.
Stormfall Archers - and other low RAT models really like knocked down models

Drawbacks & Downsides

Critical Knockdown is more of a bonus if it happens and not very reliable unless
under Rahn's Feat
Combo Smite is only reliable on low DEF models, which are likely to be on a larger
base so get pushed half distance
You cannot Whip Snap move a Helios, Hyperion or AFG because they are on a
Huge base
Since the move from Whip Snap is an advance, the model may take free strikes when
advancing out of melee

Tricks & Tactics

Force Bolt is useful for removing models under the Shield Wall order or Defensive
Line, or pushing enemy models out of charge range.
Whip Snap your caster backwards after they have unloaded their damage or feat
Whip Snap can allow the Magister to back up after blasting something
Whip Snap your Heavy, Eiryss or other key models forward to extend their threat
range
