PROLOGUE

There I was, nineteen years old, standing in a room with two

strangers singing “At Last” by Etta James. At the time, I had
no idea I was auditioning for a TV show. I just needed a job and,
as every other artist does, we audition for everything. You never
know where one audition may take you. The strangers ended
up being two junior producers for a brand new show called
American Idol.

Ever since I won American Idol, I have enjoyed having creative

involvement and fighting for music I believe in. It hasn’t been an
easy road but it has been my road and although there have been
hard times, I have also accomplished a lot with a great team of
people. These songs represent the last ten years of my life. They
represent not only my evolution as an artist but also proof that
dreams can become reality.

It is weird to have a Greatest Hits album at thirty years old but

what’s even more amazing is that I have the support of so many
fans across the world who have made this possible. Without the
loyalty and passion from my fans, I wouldn’t be where I am and
I don’t take that for granted. I am so thankful to American Idol
for being the door to this crazy music world. I am grateful for
all of the lovely people that I have worked with and continue to
work with in my life. Last but not least, I am blessed to have my
friends, family and fans to support me. Here’s to another ten
