B. USE “OF” IN QUNATITY DISCRIPTION

MOST + NONSPECIFIC NOUN

a) Most books are interesting. (CORRECT)

b) Most of books are interesting. (INCORRECT)

In the example of sentence (a), the speaker does not indicate a specific book. The
speaker does not also show the "book" or "your book" or "a book written by someone. The
noun (noun) "books" above is not shown specifically.

While in the example of sentence (b), the word "of" is not added to an expression of
the quantity eg using the "most" quantity if the noun is not specific,

MOST + OF + SPECIFIC NOUN

a) Most of those books are mine.

b) Most of my books are in English.
c) Most of the books on that table are mine.

The noun becomes specific when it begins with:

 This, that, these, those as in the example sentence (a), or
 My, your, our, their, her, etc (various possessive pronouns) as in sentence example
(b), or
 The, as in the example sentence (c).

So "of" can be used to express quantity information if the specific word object.
