Recuerda:
In Spanish we use the verb gustar to express likes and dislikes:
Me gustan las vacaciones porque son divertidas.
No me gusta estudiar porque es aburrido.
Me gustan las frutas pero no me gustan los vegetales.
Los sábados me gusta ir a Nakumatt a comprar comida.

The way we conjugate the verb gustar is:

Indirect object verb
A mí Me gusta I like
A tí Te gusta You like
A él/ella/usted Le gusta He or she likes
A nosotros Nos gusta We like
A vosotros Os gusta You (plural/Spain) like
A ellos Les gusta They like (same as you like – plural - in Latin
America

IMPORTANT NOTE: Gustar is not the only verb we conjugate with me, te, le, etc. The following verbs have the
same logic as gustar:
Interesar: To interest Ejemplo: Me interesa la sociología – sociology interests me (I’m interested in sociology)
Encantar: Me encantan los perros (I’m fascinated by dogs /dogs fascinate me / I love dogs)
Fascinar: A Luisa le fascina estudiar. Etc..

2. Then, after you have taken enough time to grasp and understand the grammar about
the verb gustar, do the following exercises:

EJERCICIO 1
Complete the following text with the conjugated verb. Remember, just like in English, in
Spanish we conjugate (even more than in English as there is a different conjugation fo
each pronoun- I, you, he/she, we, you plural, they).
I have completed the first sentence for you to have a look.
Spanish: En mi tiempo libre me gusta montar en bicicleta.
English: In my free time I like (it pleases me) to ride a bike.
You have to continue the rest of the text with the same logic. Make sure you understand (check your
dictionary) so you know how to use the verbs.

En mi tiempo libre me (gustar) montar en bicicleta y también me (gustar) dar

gusta

un paseo en un parque o caminar en las montañas porque me (encantar) tener

contacto con la naturaleza. En verano me (gustar) mucho ir a la playa para tomar el
sol. Cuando hace mal tiempo me (gustar) leer un libro o ver una buena película en la
televisión. No me (interesar) las películas de acción, porque normalmente son
violentas y a mí la violencia no me (gustar) nada. También me (gustar) navegar
en internet ya que a veces puedo encontrar cosas que me (interesar) , por ejemplo,
artículos de revistas electrónicas o información de otras culturas. Los fines de semana me
(encantar) encontrarme con mis amigos para tomar una copa, no me
(gustar) quedarme solo en casa el sábado por la noche. Después nos (gustar) ir
a bailar porque a todos nos (encantar) las discotecas del centro donde siempre hay
buena música.
