Emmedve wall oor and roof panels are used 2¢ ciuetural
composite panals for load-bearing and norioad-besring
conarete walls, and reinroed concrete foot and roof
panels in freresistancetated anc non-tre-esistance-
fated construcion. The Emmadue panole are recognized
for use in buicings of noncombustible constuction wien
installed n accordance with Section 4.2 of this repor.
3.0 DESCRIPTION
34 General:
‘The Emmedue panels consist of a single insulating foam
Plaste board with a grid of welded wire reinforcement on
Gach face of the insulating panel connected by steel
‘ransverse wires. A layer of Shotcrete is applied to each
face of the wall panels, over the welded woven steel, at the
Jobste. Emmedue wall panels are designated PSMEO and
consist of 4inchthick (102 mm) EPS foam cores with
‘rinch-thick (26-4 mm) Shotorete on each outer face. The
Emmedue floor-oof panels consist of an insulating foam
plastic board with a layer of welded wire remfercement on
gach face and a grid of welded wire reinforcement
connected by steel transverse wires. The bottom of the
floorroof panels is shot wih a layer of Shotorete at the
Jobsite, The top of the flocr-roof panels is covered with a
layer of placed concrete at the jabste. Emmedue Soor-roat
panels are designated PSSE0 or PSS150 and consist,
respectively, of 4-inch-thick (102 mm) or S-neh-thick
(152 mm) EPS foam cores, with 2 inches of concrete on
the top surface and {inch (25.4 mm) Shotcrete on the
botiom surface. The Emmedue wall panels and foor-roof
Panels sre preformed and delivered to the jobst= for
‘erection and placement of Shoterete and coneretz,
22 Materials:
2.2.4 EPS: The insulaton used in the Emmedue wall,
‘Noor and roof panels i expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam
plastic boards manufactured from EPS beads recognized
in ICC-ES ESR-1708. The EPS is Type | EPS with a
minimum densty of 0.90 pet (14.4 kgim*), a flame-spread
index of 25 er less and a smoke-developed index of 480 or
Jess whan tested in accordance with ASTM E 84 at a
‘Linch (102 mm) thickness and a 1.0 pef (16.0 kgim')
maximum density.
2.22 Reinforcement: Deformed steel reinforcement
(bars must have a minimum yield stress of 60 ksi (420 Mpa)
and comply with Section 35.3.1 of ACI 318 and IBC
Section 1903. Welded plain wire reinforcement must
‘comply with Secton 3.6.2.5 of ACI 212 and IBC Section
1003. The wire used in the fabreation of the welded wre
reinforcement and the steel transverse wire conforms to
ASTM A 82. The welded wire reinforcement complies with
ASTM A 185.
2.23 Conerete: Concrete must be normal-weight
concrete, complying wih the apphcable code, having 3
maximum aggregate size of Jy inch (16 mm). 3 minimum
slump of 2 inches ($1 mm), and a minimum compressive
strength of 2,500 psi (17.2 MPa) at 22 days. The concrete
‘must comply with Chapter 19.ofthe IBC.
2.24 Shotorete: Shotorete must comply with IBC
Section 1013 and have a minimum specified compressive
strength of 2.500 psi (17.2 MPa). Aggregate size must not
exceed “i inch (8.5 mm) and conform fo Gradaton No. 1
