February 26, 2018
ATTN: Selectwoman Joyce Chunglo:
The Hadley Post 271 would like to thank you for your continued support in the past
and now.
We are requesting that you ask the entire Board if they would entertain a motion to gift
land known as the "Upper Parking Lot" to the American Legion Post 271 and request the
Contractor that used the “Upper and Lower Parking Lots" for a staging area for reconstruction
of Rt. 9. We request that they repave the entire upper and lower parking lots that they
caused enormous damage to the pavement and did a quick patch job and left.
This is totally unacceptable. Please let us know as soon as possible. We thank you
for your continued support.

Board of Selectmen RE: Petitions Filed
‘Molly Keegan, Chairman
We understand that you have called Frank Zabawa of the American Legion and made a
comment that "they think the petitions that were submitted by myself and Frank might be
invalid”. If in fact, Town Council find some wording incorrect, we would hope that he would
correct it and stay within the spirit of the petitions. if these petitions are invalid and Town
Council corrects the wording, we would like to review them before they are sent to the printer.
We don't understand why the Board of Selectmen is trying so hard to stop these petitions
from reaching Town Meeting floor. It's only a vehicle, not a referendum. We want the voters
to make a decision with ALL the facts, that was not presented at the original Town Meeting
where the first vote was taken for the new proposed Senior Center. If we have to, we will
come back after the May 3rd Town Meeting with the correct wording, if in fact that is the
case, We would hope that any corrections would be made, if needed, and stay within the spirit
of the petitions filed. We don't want the Town of bear the cost for another Town Meeting.
‘Thank you for the attention in this matter.
