ANNOUNCEMENT

The Embassy of the United States of America in Cameroon in partnership with the Yaounde Pilot Linguistic
Center, will implement from September to December 2016, an English Language Teachers' Development
Project on the theme “Teaching English with Online Tools.”

Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Office of English Language Programs, this project will consist of
four three-day seminars for English Language teachers throughout Cameroon focusing on how to effectively
use web-based tools in enhancing learners’ English Language skills and abilities. It is a trainer of
trainers’project.

Training modules will include:

 Creating an academic blog, project-based learning with webquests;

 Using an LMS for online or blended learning: Schoology and Edpuzzle;
 Differentiated instruction;
 Social networking in English Language teaching.

The four seminars are scheduled as follows:

1. Yaounde:(CLAC Mimboman)from September 28 – 30, 2016, and is open to teachers teaching in the
Center, South and East Regions of Cameroon.
2. Ngaoundere: (Ngaoundere Linguistic Center) from October 26 – 28, 2016 open to teachers teaching in
the Adamawa, North and Far North Regions
3. Bafoussam: (Bafoussam Linguistic Center): November 9 – 11, 2016 open to teachers teaching in the West
and North West Regions
4. Douala: (American Language Center): November 30 – December 2, 2016 open to teachers teaching in the
Littoral and the South West Regions

The deadline for registration for the Yaounde workshop is September 23, 2016.
