Dear Parents/Guardians,

Greetings! As you all know, the CDL and DCL are laboratory schools where research and
extension work on families and human development are being conducted by faculty and students to be
able to contribute to the body of knowledge. In this regard, we would like to inform you that your
child, Aden Kenobi Adalla, has been chosen as a case study child of Franz Allen L. Ranas as a requirement
in his/her course, HFDS 13 Child Psychology, which is being offered by the Department of Human and
Family Development Studies, College of Human Ecology.

The mentioned student will be observing your child in classroom setting for 5 weeks and will
conduct a home visit between April 10-19, 2018. During the home visit, parents will be interviewed and
the child will be observed at home for one session. This may also be the time to ask the observer
regarding your child’s behavior at school. The student will approach you or your child’s guardian for the
schedule of the home visit.

Rest assured that all the information gathered will be kept confidential and will be used for
academic purposes only. For inquiries regarding this matter, you can contact the undersigned at 536-
2480 or you may communicate your concerns to your child’s teacher.

The CDL and DCL are institutions that aim to provide meaningful learning and socialization
experiences for pre-school children. Aside from this, it also serves as a laboratory for the UPLB
students to observe the behavior and development of these young children. I am pleased to inform
you that your child has been chosen by one of our students in HFDS 13 (Child Psychology) to be
his/ her case child.

Part of my student’s requirement is to observe their case child at home for 1-2 hours. They are also
required to interview you about your child’s behavior and of how you take care of him/her. We
