1 Scope of delivery
The SIMOCRANE Basic Technology package contains:

Limitation of liability
The applications and the corresponding documentation (e.g. SIMOTION project with Cranes standard
application (STS Crane,) Crane FB library (ST), SIMATIC STEP 7 application blocks and WebStart)
contained on the software CD are provided free of charge. The software has not been tested with the
normal system test by Siemens AG, but was proved on the pilot cranes. The customer is granted the
non-exclusive, non-transferable, gratuitous right to use the software. This includes the right to change the
software, to copy it unchanged or changed and to combine it with customer's own software.
Any liability - irrespective of the legal grounds - especially for faults in the software or associated
documentation or damage on account of consulting shall be excluded unless liability is compulsory, for
example, in the case of intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, non-compliance with
guaranteed characteristics, fraudulent concealment of defects or violation of important contractual
obligations. This does not entail a reversal of the burden of proof to the disadvantage of the customer.

2. Installation instructions
2.1. System prerequistes

2.2 Installation
The CD contains a setup file. With this file, you can install the Crane DCC-library and its online help. A
precondition is that the software SIMOTION SCOUT V4.3.1 has been installed and the user is registered
as administrator on PC.
The setup is started from the CD drive with the following call:
CD drive:\setupBasicTechnology.exe
The installation program leads you step by step through the whole installation process. The installation is
carried out as follows:
• SIMATIC Manager and SCOUT have to be terminated before starting the setup program.
• The setup must be executed before the SIMOCRANE Basic Technology is used.
• For integrating the "Crane DCC-Library" into your SIMOTION user project, refer to Chapter 5.4.3
of the SIMOCRANE Basic Technology Operating Instructions, Edition 06/2012.
2.3 Deinstallation
• The contents installed via setup can be deinstalled via Windows Start > Control Panel > Software.
