Basic Technology V3.0

These instructions take precedence over statements in other documents.
Please read the instructions carefully since important information for installation and use of the software
are included for you.

The SIMOCRANE Basic Technology V3.0 is focused on increasing usability and extending functionality.

Overview of the main improvements and extensions:

Crane DCC-Library (Product):

Optimization of Start-Pulse block, reduction of polygonal arc as well as extension with external load
measurement and automatically scaling of whole deflection of a master switch in
Load-Depending-Field-Weakening block, improvement of Slack-Rope-Control and
Current-Equalization-Control blocks. Crane DCC-Library in V3.0 is upwards compatible.

Crane FB-Library (Application):

Implementation of automatic variables setting during commissioning, e.g. Load Depending Field
Weakening, grab closing etc., extension of the software interface to virtual S7 in SIMOTION and to the
coming ECO-Technology, improvement of the handling of build-up and monitoring of Sway Control,
extension of script for transfer of all reference values from drive to Simotion, new function to set the
clock time in SIMOTION/SINAMICS by PLC, an alternative positioning method for positioning an axis
subject to vibration, changeable smooth-time (jerk) in all operation modes and changeable deceleration
during the braking phrase.

Standard application (Application):

Extension of the hardware interface between SIMOTION and SINAMICS DC-Master with two standard
applications in AC/DC mixed configuration, additional standard application for STS crane with backup
drives, new standard application with distributed synchronous operation on two cranes, additional
standard application for GSU crane with 2x Holding-gear drives and 2x closing-gear drives, further
application example with virtual S7-interface.

SIMOTION/SINAMICS Firmware (Product):

SIMOTION FW4.3.1 and SINAMICS FW V4.5 HF2 are available on the CD.

Compatibility list
A compatibility list of SIMOCRANE Products is available on the CD.

Documentation (Product and Application):

The 'Getting Started' in German and English is available.
A summary of all important changes in V3.0 in English is available on the CD.

Commissioning and Diagnose tool (Application):

SIMOCRANE WebStart is an official application tool for commissioning and diagnose of SIMOCRANE
Basic Technology. It is integrated in all standard applications.

1 Scope of delivery
The SIMOCRANE Basic Technology package contains:

1.1 Hardware
• SIMOTION D435-2 DP/PN

1.2 Memory card

The memory card (Compact Flash card) contains the actual firmware version for SIMOTION D435-2
DP/PN and the licenses which are mentioned in chapter 1.4.

1.3 CD
The software CD contains:
• Readme file
• Installation program setup file for Crane DCC library and online help
• Firmware SIMOTION V4.3.1 / SINAMICS V4.5 HF2
• Important changes in SIMOCRANE Basic Technology V3.0
• Software
- Application Software (Standard application with Crane DCC-Library and Crane
FB-Library as well as SIMATIC S7-application blocks and examples) for following crane
types:
- STS Crane via Profibus DP

Limitation of liability
The applications and the corresponding documentation (e.g. SIMOTION project with Cranes standard
application (STS Crane,) Crane FB library (ST), SIMATIC STEP 7 application blocks and WebStart)
contained on the software CD are provided free of charge. The software has not been tested with the
normal system test by Siemens AG, but was proved on the pilot cranes. The customer is granted the
non-exclusive, non-transferable, gratuitous right to use the software. This includes the right to change the
software, to copy it unchanged or changed and to combine it with customer's own software.

Any liability - irrespective of the legal grounds - especially for faults in the software or associated
documentation or damage on account of consulting shall be excluded unless liability is compulsory, for
example, in the case of intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, non-compliance with
guaranteed characteristics, fraudulent concealment of defects or violation of important contractual
obligations. This does not entail a reversal of the burden of proof to the disadvantage of the customer.

Governed by German law. Place of jurisdiction shall be Erlangen.

1.4 Runtime Licensing

In the licensing procedure used for SIMOTION, different licenses must be procured depending on the
type and number of the runtime components used in the project. The licenses required for a device are
assigned to a license key.
The license is bound together with the serial number of the memory card.

The delivered memory card was authorized with following licenses:

- SIMOTION MultiAxes (for Motion Control)

- SIMOTION Crane Basic Technology (for Functions in the Crane DCC-Library)

2. Installation instructions
2.1. System prerequistes
2.1.1 Hardware

• SIMOTION D435-2 DP/PN, firmware V4.3.1 and higher

• SINAMICS, firmware V4.5.HF2 and higher
2.1.2 Software

• SIMOTION SCOUT, Version V4.3.1 and higher

• Option package Drive Control Chart (DCC) V2.2 1 for SIMOTION / SINAMICS and higher

2.2 Installation
The CD contains a setup file. With this file, you can install the Crane DCC-library and its online help. A
precondition is that the software SIMOTION SCOUT V4.3.1 has been installed and the user is registered
as administrator on PC.

The setup is started from the CD drive with the following call:

CD drive:\setupBasicTechnology.exe

The installation program leads you step by step through the whole installation process. The installation is
carried out as follows:
• SIMATIC Manager and SCOUT have to be terminated before starting the setup program.
• The setup must be executed before the SIMOCRANE Basic Technology is used.
• For integrating the "Crane DCC-Library" into your SIMOTION user project, refer to Chapter 5.4.3
of the SIMOCRANE Basic Technology Operating Instructions, Edition 06/2012.

2.3 Deinstallation
• The contents installed via setup can be deinstalled via Windows Start > Control Panel > Software.

3. Boundary conditions and functional restrictions

• Notice: The new library Crane DCC-Library V3.0 appears with the version string
'TPcrane_dcc_library_SIMOTION_4_1_5 (V30.05)'.
• Notice: In case of online license, the required license of the SIMOCRANE Basic Technology will
show '0', after SIMOTION D is powered off and on again.
• Notice: SIMOCRANE WebStart is running under Windows Internet Explorer V8.0 or higher.
• Notice: The supplied standard applications with SINAMICS DC-Master require the SINAMICS
Support Package SSP-Sinamics-DCM-V1-3-HF2.zip, for the SINAMICS DCM with Firmware
Version V1.3 HF 2 to configure and commission SINAMICS drives of the SINAMICS DCM series.
