Program Highlights
1. The Department of Law was established in 2014.
2. The Department offers the following courses:

3. The mission of the Department of Law is to produce value based legal education and mold the character of younger
generation to produce employable students to continuous up-gradation of skills and to produce more number of
entrepreneurs through effective teaching methodology.
4. The objective to prepare our students to be successful in pursing advanced studies, in a competitive universe.
5. Highly qualified & experienced faculty drawn from Academics & industry to sharpen the professional skills for
personal effectiveness & legal development.
6. Regular National and State level Seminars, Quizzes, Competitions and cultural activities are organized.

Professor V. Vijay Kumar visited Department of Law on November 11, 2016.

5. Rohini Court Visit (November 25, 2016)


The Department of Law (Jagan Nath University, Haryana) organized Court Visit for students of
BA LL.B (H) course to the Rohini Courts on 25th November, 2016.

During the court visit, the students had visited the facilitation Centre, Video Conferencing Room,
Mediation Centre, MACT Court, Family Courts, Civil Courts and Criminal Courts. The students
were taken to facilitation Center where they have been given a lecture about profession as a
lawyer. This would be the first point of contact when they embark on their career as lawyers. The
students were explained about the functioning of facilitation Center for the purpose of filing new
cases, obtaining certified copies and filing/depositing of court fees and various other
miscellaneous functions.

Students had the best learning experience by observing the court of Dr. Kamini Lau, ASJ.
Criminal Court, Rohini. While being there the students got an insight on how to appreciate each
fact/ evidence in a detailed manner in a criminal trial. They also had the opportunity to observer
the re-examination and cross examination of witnesses.

These court visits would have a special bearing on the personality development and grooming
aspect of the students as they had the opportunity to observe about the court conducts and
advocates. They also had a chance to learn the decorum and code of conduct of the court and its
premises.

The Court Visit Team, lead by Convener Mr. Vijay Pal Singh also explored the opportunity of
organizing Legal-Aid camps under the support/guidance of Delhi Legal Service Authority and it
is envisaged to hold legal Aid Camp in the near future. The court visit ended with lot many
knowledge and learning to the students on 25th November 2016.

6. Organized National Seminar on “Criminal Law Reforms in Recent Times”

“Criminal Law Reforms in Recent Times” held on February 11, 2017
Jagan Nath University, Bhadurgarh, Faculty of law conducts one day national seminar on
“Criminal Law Reforms in Recent Times”
With a view to create awareness on Criminal laws and its viability in modern society,
Jagan Nath University has organized national seminar at University premises.
Sh. R.C Bidhan ,IAS, DC, Jhajjar was the Chief Guest at the National Seminar and in
his inaugural address he emphasized the need to develop social behavior to remove
criminal acts .And to enhance efficient information & communication system the right
implementation of laws is prime move to develop society. He focused on self
participation in society to bring reforms for the developed society. He appreciated
university efforts for taking this subject on academic front.

At the National seminar deliberations were done in its sub-themes of “Criminal Law
reforms in recent times” .And other topics for intellectual discussions are Criminal
laws for women protection, Criminal reforms and democratic stats, Death penalty: A
critical study white collar crime and many other important issues.
Prof. H.L Verma, Vice Chancellor, Jagan Nath University, delivered keynote address on
the occasion. He highlighted the functioning of judicial system and the need for criminal
reforms in social system in correspondence to modern society.
Dr. Anupam Kurwal, UILMS, Gurgaon also addressed the gathering and discussed the
present and future state of reforms related to criminal laws.
Dr. Pramod Mailk, BPS Mahila Vishvidlaya& Dr. Kavita Dhull, MDU, Rohtak also
addressed the seminar.
Dr. Raj Kumar Yadav, organizing secretary delivered the concluding remarks & Vote of
Thanks.

A batch of 25 Students of Department of Law, Jagan Nath University,


Bahadurghar, Haryana participated in the National workshop on “Basics of

Advocacy Skill and Client Counselling” held on April 8 & 9, 2017 at


Faculty of Law of Dr. Shankuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University,
Lucknow, U.P. The whole workshop was divided into four technical
sessions.

On the first day of workshop Hon’ble (Mr.) Justice Shahbihul Hasnain was
the Chief Guest and Shri Prashant Chandra, Senior Advocate, Allahabad

High Court was the Guest of Honour. In the first day of workshop the
students were taught the basics of the advocacy skills, the chief guest
emphasized on the qualities of an advocate like confidence, command over
the language, time management. In addition to this, students were also
taught about how to prepare advance argument, how to frame the argument
and cite judgments.

On the second day of the workshop students were taught how to deal with
the client, enable them to understand the various situations. They were also
taught the importance of English language, not only English language at the
same time the importance of Hindi language and their regional language/s
and how to achieve command over the three languages helps in the case.
Special focus was given to the through preparation of the case.

In the valedictory function Chief Guest was Hon’ble Justice (Dr.) Devendra
Kumar Arora and the Guest of Honour was Shri Brijesh Kumar Shukla,
Senior Advocate Allahabad High Court.

The students were trained under the worthy guidance of Dr. Vijay Pal Singh,
Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Jagan Nath University, Haryana
during this workshop at Dr. Shankuntala Misra National Rehabilitation
University, Lucknow, U.P. Certificate of appreciation was awarded to him by
the University. Moreover, ten students were also attached with the reputed
group of Legal Amicus. All students are motivated by this skill development
program. It was also aimed to think without territory barriers.

Dr. Raj Kumar, Dr. Vijay Pal Singh and Mr. Divyanshu Chauhan after the event shared
their experiences with students. Dr. Vijay Pal Singh as a Convener and Mr. Divyanshu
acted as a Coordinator of the event. Prof. H.L. Verma, Vice-Chancellor of the University
encouraged all the faculty members and students for this successful event and motivated
them to organize such events at regular intervals. The event ended with vote of thanks of
Dr. Raj Kumar Yadav, Head, Department of Law, Jagan Nath University, Haryana.
