Mupirocin

Indication/uses: Bactroban Cream Topical treatment of secondarily infected traumatic lesions eg,

small lacerations, sutured wounds or abrasions. Bactroban Ointment Topical treatment of

primary skin infections eg, impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis & ecthyma. Secondary infections

eg, infected eczema, infected traumatic lesions including abrasions, insect bites, minor wounds &

burns. Bacterial contamination prophylaxis.

Dosage/ Direction for use: Bactroban Cream Adult, children & elderly Apply tid for up to 10

days. Bactroban Ointment Adult, child, elderly & hepatic impairment Apply bid-tid for up to 10

days.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity

Special Precautions: Avoid contact w/ eyes. Discontinue use if sensitization reaction or severe

local irritation occur & prolonged/significant diarrhea occurs. Overgrowth of nonsusceptible

organisms in prolonged use. Not suitable for ophth or intranasal use. Bactroban Cream

Pregnancy. Bactroban Ointment Do not use at the site of central venous cannulation nor in

conjunction w/ cannulae. Moderate to severe renal impairment. Lactation.

Adverse Reactions: Bactroban Cream Cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions. Bactroban Ointment

Burning (localized to area of application).

Preg Safety (US):

Category B: Either animal-reproduction studies have not demonstrated a foetal risk but there are

no controlled studies in pregnant women or animal-reproduction studies have shown an adverse

effect (other than a decrease in fertility) that was not confirmed in controlled studies in women in

the 1st trimester (and there is no evidence of a risk in later trimesters).

For disinfection of wound area, brought by cut , bruises, burns, parasitic intrusion or post surgery

perparations giving way to faster healing of wound. For faster extermination of gram (+) and

gram (-) bacteria affecting the healing process of founds. Wards off parasitic re-entry and

discourages insects from incubating the affected area.

Indication: Anti-septic, Antibacterial, Anti-parasitic and Insect Repellent Cream for Dogs and

Cats.

Direction:

Clean affected area well. Dry the affected area with cotton or clean sheet of cloth. Apply

sufficient amount of cream covering the entire affected surface. Apply 3x a week or every other

day for 1 week long until the wound is dry. Store in room temperature.
