Identification of Learning Problem

For this professional development I will be delivering this lesson to the pre-k teachers at my
school. Our school is simply a school for pre-k students and is not considered an elementary
school. Since we only serve pre-k students there are a lot of things we lack. For example: an
assistant principal, technology specialists, media specialist, etc. Our school does participate in its
own professional developments, however, I feel that when it comes to technology we are lacking
because there is not one person that is specifically responsible for making sure staff understands
the new technology that is being implemented. I have decided to give my professional
development on OneDrive. Within the last month or so all Glynn County employees e-mail
switched over to Office 365 that includes many apps no one really knows how to use. All of the
schools are receiving profession developments on OneDrive by their school’s media specialist,
however, since we don’t have one I will be delivering the training to my staff members.

Learner Analysis

My learning group will be made up of a variety of learners with different educational

backgrounds. My learners will mostly be made up of paraprofessionals and teachers and my
administrator will also be present. At our school there are some employees with little or no
college, bachelors degrees, master degrees, and specialist degrees. We also have a wide range of
experience levels, teachers have anywhere from 2 years to 25+ years of experience. It will be
interesting to see how this professional development will go. I have a feeling some will struggle
with the directions at first but I also feel like a lot of staff members will like the OneDrive app
and will immediately start using it.

Stage 3: Learning Plan

Lesson Objective: After the whole group discussion about OneDrive, learning what it is and
why it’s important, staff members will sign/log into their OneDrive account, save
files/documents into their drive in order to have access to them any where in the world.

Lesson Outline:
 Hook
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgheBGvA7pI
-Staff members will watch the “What is OneDrive? How to use OneDrive to share and
work on the same files” video on YouTube. This video is informative and easy for
users to follow and understand. In this video it informs users that in OneDrive they
have the ability to share and collaborate with others, can control who sees and edits the
document, can edit the document in familiar programs (PowerPoint, Word, etc.), and
ensures that all documents are saved and updated.

Essential Questions:
 What is OneDrive?

 How will OneDrive help me as a professional?

 What strategies can I use to help me understand and use OneDrive?

Activity
 A web repository will be available under my teacher website (on the school’s website)
to help with the organization and teaching of the lesson. The web repository will be
beneficial for staff members to look back at to review and for individuals that are
unfamiliar with OneDrive and how to use it.
 First, the presenter will ask if anyone has ever misplaced a saved document or
accidently lost a document because you thought you had saved it? As a whole we will
discuss our experiences and I will inform users that I always save my documents to a
flash drive, however, often times I forget my flash drive at school and then am unable
to work on the document when I get home.
 The presenter will explain that today we will be learning about OneDrive and how it
will prevent most of the issues and problems we have with saved documents.
 The presenter will explain that OneDrive is an app of Office365 that is provided for us
by the school system. OneDrive has unlimited storage and can be accessed from any
device or anywhere in the world. One drive has many capabilities such as:
collaborating and sharing documents with others, having the ability to edit documents
and control who can view them and edit them, and the best part about OneDrive is that
it saves and updates all documents automatically.
 The presenter will then explain that if anyone has ever used Google Apps (google docs,
slides, etc.) it is very similar to OneDrive. The only different is that OneDrive has its
users using PowerPoint and Word (apps that they are already pretty familiar with).
 Staff members will then be instructed to log in to the computer using their pin number
and password.
 Together as a whole group we will then being the process of logging into OneDrive
and saving important documents.
 On the web repository I will now show staff members the google slideshow created by
Christy Jones on how to access OneDrive.
