PRELIMINARIES

TEACHER’S PRAYER

Lord, Help me to be a fine teacher, to keep peace in the classroom, peace

between my students and myself, to be kind and gentle to each and every one

of my students. Help me to be merciful to my students, to balance mercy and

discipline in the right measure for each student, to give genuine praise as

much as possible, to give constructive criticism in a manner that is palatable

to my students. Help me to remain conscientious enough to keep my lessons

always interesting, to recognize what motivates each of my students, to

accept my students' limitations and not hold it against them. Help me not to

judge my students too harshly, to be fair to all, to be a good role model, but

most of all Lord help me to show your love to all of my students.

In Jesus Mighty Name,

Amen.
INTRODUCTION

“To be a teacher, in the right sense is to be a learner, instruction begins when you, as a
teacher, also learn from the learner”

Teaching is an occupation that has itself pains and gains. These are the trials and challenges,
blessings and benefits that a teacher enjoys in this profession which is often called a
vocation rather than an occupation.

Being a teacher is an answer to a call because not everybody took up teaching and entered
this field because they fear the heavy task inherent in the profession, notwithstanding the
benefits derived from it.

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating
atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by
providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
There are three things that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1)
the teacher acting as a guide, (2) allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her
learning, and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people.

In choosing to become a teacher, I have made the commitment to myself and my future
students to be the best academic, personal, and ethical role model I can be. It is my goal to
have a mutually enriching teaching career by keeping an open mind and continually
communicating with my students. I am prepared to rise to the challenges of teaching in the
21st century, and I promise to try to provide an honest, well-rounded education to every
student I encounter.

The following documents are proof that I honestly and sincerely did my OFF- CAMPUS
PRACTICE TEACHING.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The preparation of this important document would not be possible without the support,
hard work and endless efforts of a large number of individual and institutions.

I wish to extent my heartfelt gratitude to CALUMPIT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL for giving me
opportunity to serve their school and for letting me conduct my PRACTICE TEACHING on
their institution.

I would like also to thank my Head teacher MRS. CYNTHIA AGUINALDO and My very kind
Cooperating Teacher MRS. MARIECRIS B. IPAPO for assisting me and helping me to
experience those meaningful learning experiences that molded me more to be a better
future educator and for making into reality this Portfolio of Learning.

To our Practice teaching Supervisor MRS. MARIA ISABEL CHICO because of her I face the
reality and accept the truth that this is really the profession destined in me. And thank you
for the patience and understanding. Thank you very much Ma’am

I would like also to express my gratitude to those entire people that helped me in the
duration of the said Experiential Course.

To my FRIENDS who always there to support me and also to MY PARENTS AND SISTER who
giving me their undying support, love, moral values and advices.

And I thank our ALMIGHTY GOD for giving me Knowledge, Strength, Wisdom and Guidance.
DEDICATION

As well as everything that I do, I would be honor to dedicate this Final Portfolio to my
parents. The two persons that gave the tools and values necessary to be where I am standing
today. My parents support me on every step I make, and decision I take; but is necessary to
understand that they let me take my decisions alone in order for me to learn from my
personal mistake and as my father says to “learn and grow from each seatback”. I will never
finish to thank my father and my mother for all the opportunities that they have offer and
gave me, for all the teachings that they have told me and for every advise that come out of
their mouth. I am so graceful with them for trusting me that I would do a Good job in the
university, and letting me come to achieve a higher education.

And also I would like to dedicate this portfolio to my Grade 10 students at Calumpit National
High School whom I spent 5 months of my practice teaching, where I gain a lot
of experiences as a student teacher, and share to them I have learned in Practice Teaching.
From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU SO MUCH.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
AND PARTICIPATION
A. Teaching – Learning Strategies from
Observation –Participation

1. Decision Making - This strategy will help students to consider their own beliefs about
their ability to view situations and events and solve problems, explore a series of
steps in making decisions in relation to positive healthy behaviors, and share reasons
for making a decision with others.
2. Cooperative Learning - an instructional strategy in which small groups of students
work together on a common task. This is also way to allow students to think critically
without relying on the teacher for answers.
3. Active learning is a process whereby students engage in activities, such as reading,
writing, discussion, or problem solving that promote analysis, synthesis and
evaluation of class content
4. Just-in-time-teaching is a teaching and learning strategy designed to promote the
use of class time for more active learning
Local Demonstration
DOCUMENTATION
These photos were taken during the Career Module
Assessment week last October 16-19, 2017. The students are
creating their own piece of Art that they want to have in the
future. And we ask them on what profession do they want in
the near future.
These photos were taken during Teacher’s day last October 5,
2017. And that time I was a little bit shocked because we
didn’t expect that our hard headed students (sometimes)
would surprise us (me and my cooperating teacher). They
gave us flowers and a sweet little token, according to them it
serves as a huge thank you for us not giving up on them
although they are bunch of hard headed students.
These photos were taken during the Math competition last
September 25, 2017. The Calumpit National High School
serves as a host school during that time. There are 21
corresponding school were attended that event. I saw that
there are so many talented students when it comes to Math
Subject and I also saw how they enjoyed and competitive
they are. And I admit that they are awesome!
These photos were taken during Teacher’s day, when you
look on those faces of the teachers you would saw that they
are really enjoy the games.
Grade 10 – Psyche

Grade 10 - Cupid
Grade 10- Vesta

Grade 10 Pluto
Grade 10 – Venus

Grade 10 - Athena
These photos were taken during My Final Demo Teaching
last November 23, 2017. At first I felt so nervous because I
thought that I ’m not gonna make it. But at the time goes by
when I saw my cooperating teacher and my friend who
encourage me that I can make it.

Problem Encountered During Practice Teaching

Every student has different characteristic. Each of them is a unique individual, it is so

had to adjust and mingle the large number of students because of their differences. The
gang spirit and the loyalty of the group where they belong were very evident. They are very
democratic in dealing with other groups. But I continuous know them little by little. I
understood that each learner as a unique individual has different likes and dislikes and I
joined the waves of the atmosphere.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Being able to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in college after that I want to take a
Licensure Examination for Teacher so that when I been able to teach in an institution I will
increase my knowledge and understanding of literacy strategies which are appropriate for
my content area so students are able to successfully use a variety of techniques and also I
want to take a Master’s Degree and attending more seminars that are more appropriate in
my field to improve my skills in implementing a balanced literacy approach in my classroom
with a special emphasis on guided reading in order to increase my students’ interest and
enjoyment of reading and their achievement based upon my school’s grade level.
