To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this letter in support of Vicki Gertentes earning her Master’s Degree in Higher
Education at Loyola University Chicago. Vicki has shown a strong dedication to her academic
coursework, her current full-time role, previous graduate assistantship and internship, and her
volunteer roles in higher education.

Vicki began this program as a Graduate Assistant for Community Standards and Greek Life at the
Illinois Institute of Technology. Throughout her first year in the program, she held this role and
served as an advisor for the Greek Council, worked with Order of Omega, and conduct
adjudication for the IIT student community. After showing incredible promise during her first
year at IIT, she was asked to step up and take a full time role as a Coordinator for Greek Life at
IIT. In this current role, she is the sole individual at IIT’s campus who is responsible for the Greek
Community. In addition to her responsibilities in her graduate assistantship, she now supervises
two student staff members who serve as Sorority Resident Advisors, coordinates annual
attendance at the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values Conference, assists with
projects within Career Services, and oversees the marketing collateral for the Office of Residence
and Greek Life.

Her commitment to her students, the Greek community at IIT, and the field of student affairs has
shown through her willingness to take a full-time role while in graduate school, and seeking out
addition professional development opportunities such as attending the Association for
Fraternity/Sorority Advisors Annual Meeting and serving as an intern for Greek Life at Lehigh
University. In this internship role, she was able to observe initiatives in a different department to
enhance her support for Greek life at IIT. She also continues to give back to her previous
affiliations by remaining as an engaged alumna of Lake Forest College and Delta Gamma
Fraternity. Vicki currently serves on the board for the local alumnae chapter of Delta Gamma in
Chicago, and an advisor for the Delta Gamma chapter at DePaul University. Through these roles,
she is demonstrating a strong commitment to the Sorority & Fraternity experience, as well as the
advancement of alumni engagement for her alma mater.

While upholding all of the above commitments, Vicki has remained as a dedicated student to the
Higher Education program. As one of Vicki’s peers, it is evident that she bringing critical thinking
and creativity to each of her courses she has taken throughout the program. Although she has
taken on a part-time academic course load for this semester, she is showcasing her commitment
to academics by effectively balancing her commitments to put forth her best effort to elicit
success in all realms. I fully support Vicki Gerentes in earing her Master’s Degree in Higher
Education and look forward to seeing her continued commitment to Higher Education and
Student Affairs.

Sincerely,
Joshua Jarvi
