Lesson Plan

Student-Teacher: Reem Munssir Alkarbi


Date: 11-3-2018
Grade Level: Kindergarten one
Subject: English, Science, and Math.
Strand: At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to identify the four parts of the plant (the stem,
flower, roots, and leaves), and they will be able to arrange the pictures sizes from smallest to largest and the
opposite.
Learning Outcome:
English Language Acquisition:
 Demonstrate progress in listening and understanding English (listening the story).
Mathematical Skills ongoing:
 Sort objects into groups and by classifying them into subgroups (i.e., color, size, shape)
The Arts ongoing:
 Objective 3 - Explores dance and movement concepts.
Science Technology ongoing:
 Outcome 2 - uses tools and other technology to perform tasks.

Opening (warmer activity + whole class working with the teacher)

warmer activity:
I will start the lesson by play a song about the flowers.
whole class working with the teacher:
After the warmup activity, I will tell the children a story titled (the tiny seed)

Guided Experience:

After listening the story, I will play with them pass the flower game.
T: Now we will play pass the flower game, you have to pass the flower until I say stop, and the
one who hold the flower should answer my question.
The questions:
1. Tell me one thing that the plant need to grow.
2. Tell my one benefit from the plants.
3. Draw in the air a flower.
4. What is the color of the leaves?
5. What is the part of the plant that stayed underground?

After the small game, I will explain to them what they will do in each center.

The teacher: now It is the time for doing an activity, there are three centers today, the first one
you should create a giant flower like this. The second center you should arrange the seeds from
the smallest to biggest and arrange the plant growing steps. The third center you must sort out
these leaves, flowers, stems, and roots on the right box.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)


Group one (create giant flower):
Small Group

The materials: flower coloring papers, green wood sticks, colors, green paper
Time:30

leaves, and glue.


The student role: first they must color the flower coloring papers, then they
should glue the green wood stick on the flower, after that they have to glue
the green paper leaves.
The teacher role: observe and scaffold the child who needs assistance.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2)


Group two (classifying parts of the flower):
The materials: stems, roots, flowers, leaves, cups with stickers pictures and words about (leaves,
stems, flowers, and roots)
The student role: the child must sort the parts of the flower in the right
boxes or cups.
The teacher role: observe and scaffold the child who needs assistance.
Independent Experience (small group activity 3)

Group three (arranging):


The materials: different pictures sizes of seed, giant flower picture, trees picture, houses picture,
and people picture, and the seed growing stapes pictures.
The student role: in this center, there is three different group of pictures that the children should
arrange.
First, arrange the seeds from the smallest to biggest.
Second, arrange the plant growing steps.
Third, dependent on the story they must arrange the sizes of the pictures.
 Each child will have one of them and when they finish they will rotate the groups of
pictures unsaid the center.
 I put three groups of picture to rotate because the activity will not take more time.
The teacher role: observe and scaffold the child who needs assistance.

Plan B:
The materials: playdoh, flower playdoh worksheets.
The student role: the students should use their playdoh to create the flower petals.
The teacher role: observe and scaffold the child who needs assistance.

Closing
I will play clean up song, then I will ask them to come and set on the carpet.
