Sir,
With reference to the letters received from field offices regarding discrepancies
observed in the CCPS Software. Interest @ 8.5% is being calculated while settling Advance
and Transfer-out claims from 1st may 2008 onwards during the year 2008-09 in the CCPS
Worksheet from 1st may 2008 onwards.

The above said error has been rectified and the revised version of CCPS software
version 2.0 (07/05/2008) can be downloaded from EPFO website as per the instructions
contained in the instruction sheet enclosed. This software provides assistance in processing of
the claims in respect of all the three Schemes. This software can be used for withdrawal
benefits cases only in respect of the EPS/EFPS.

This software is a tool meant only for

a) Reducing the manual calculation and likely clerical errors to speed up


the settlement process.

b) Create computerised data for facilitating migration to redesigned


system and

c) Creating computerised working environment and habits in field level. In


spite of ali the safeguards provided. the adherence to the esisting
Manual Accounting Procedure (MAP) must be followed.

Since the software allows updating of information in other software's like CEPS, CPAS
and CCTS for related management information reporting no duplication of efforts will be
required. You are advised to strictly adhere to the following instructions:

1. The software provides user level password securities up to six activities. ~


activity must be handled by different person and therefore separate
passwords must be provided.
2. No single user will be given authorisation for more than one activity.

3. The root password secrecy will be guarded strictly. The EDP Supervisor
/Assistant Programmer/Programmer as the case may be (in-charge of System
Administration) should maintain the secrecy of the password.

4. In case, it is required to assign more than one activity to any official under
special circumstances, the password for additional activity must be disabled
immediately after the task is completed. Under no circumstances shall the cash
section work be allowed to be handled by accounts section officials or vice­
versa.

5. In case of different functional areas like PRO, Account and Cash Sections,
separate user LOGIN must be created with distinct passwords. Same LOGIN
must not be assigned to all functional wings.

6. ALL OFFICIALS HANDLING THE SOFTWARE MUST BE MADE FULLY


AWARE OF THE NEED TO MAINTAIN STRICT CONFIDENTIALLY AND
SECRECY OF THEIR OWN PASSWORDS.

7. The users must be encouraged to change the passwords at frequent intervals


regularly preferably once in every month.

8. Regional offices are requested to communicate to all Sub-Regional


offices under their jurisdiction immediately on receipt of FAX.
