INTRODUCTION
MORE Supermarkets cater to the daily shopping needs of consumers. The product offerings
include a wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables, groceries, staples, confectionary, cereals etc.
A supermarket provides consumers with facility to shop anything under one roof. MORE
supermarket chain is an initiative of Aditya Birla Retail Group and has around 600 stores across
the country. MORE supermarket has started with two formats

Information Technology has been an internal part of this industry driven by numerous kinds of
information systems serving the various organizational levels for efficient decision making.
MORE supermarket also has fully functional information system which keeps track of entire
information regarding the products sold, purchased, stock remaining, profit, loss etc. and produce
it in a simple form to the managers for effective decision making.
MIS must not only indicate how things are going, but why they are not going as well as planned
where that is the case.
Here MIS helps the management to keep constant eye on all the transactions , stock buying and
selling , inventory control , items on shelf etc. for efficient decision making and therefore helps
in raising profits of the supermarket (MORE).
• Economists have estimated that the Indian organised retail market is worth $320 billion.
the Aditya Vikram Birla Group has announced its entry into the domestic organised
retail market with an investment of up to Rs 9,000 crore over three years.
• They are targetting 1,000 supermarkets in three years and plans to employ 10,000 people
in a year’s time.
• The MORE chain of supermarkets, are bright and clean stores and provides customers a
wide choice of products under its own labels.

SWOT ANALYSIS
Strengths ::
• Offer large variety of products including groceries, staples, confectionary,
beverages etc. under one roof.
• Works on UK’s “Tesco” model of having separate quality and prices for same
product category.
• MORE works on providing more of the products at less price – it means you buy
more and pay less.
Weaknesses ::
• The supermarkets have low profit margins.
Opportunities ::
• Due to urbanization supermarkets are getting an edge over stand alone shops.
• Size of the middle class is increasing which helps in increasing demand for
supermarkets.
• Big companies like MORE want better IS for their efficient working so integrated
Information Systems.
Threats ::
• Restriction from legislation made by governments.

This table shows all details such as employee id, employee name, address,
phone , designation, country etc. which can be viewed by employee or
updated whenever required.

This table is mainly used to store all the details related to the payroll
