INTRODUCTION

MORE Supermarkets cater to the daily shopping needs of consumers. The product offerings
include a wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables, groceries, staples, confectionary, cereals etc.

the country. MORE supermarket has started with two formats

 Supermarket

 Hypermarket

Information Technology has been an internal part of this industry driven by numerous kinds of
information systems serving the various organizational levels for efficient decision making.
MORE supermarket also has fully functional information system which keeps track of entire
information regarding the products sold, purchased, stock remaining, profit, loss etc. and produce
it in a simple form to the managers for effective decision making.

Management Information System (MIS)

It is a system or process that provides information needed to manage organizations effectively.
MIS helps managers by providing information in an understandable form so that it helps in
effective decision making. It should provide critical analysis of all the aspects of the business to
all the organizational levels.

MIS must not only indicate how things are going, but why they are not going as well as planned
where that is the case.

Here MIS helps the management to keep constant eye on all the transactions , stock buying and
selling , inventory control , items on shelf etc. for efficient decision making and therefore helps
in raising profits of the supermarket (MORE).
