Self-Evaluation
Spring 2018

Student Name: _______________________Tiba Alshreayda ___________

Lesson Plan Title: ________ Multi-Cultural and Nature-Inspired Plan Evaluation _______

Dates Activities were implemented: ____4/10/18____/______4/12/18_______

What Children Learned:

1. Describe what children said or did in the activities to demonstrate that they were learning. Note specific
examples of engagement of children for each of your two activities (i.e. who participated, specific social
experiences, comments on activities from the children, creative responses and use of materials, etc.) on the
first day. Do the same for the second day. Reflect on this information.
The children showed that they were learning from the multy -cultural activity by answering my questions. On
the first day when I finished reading the book all the children were able to discuss what they understood from the
book. Also, when I showed them the red and green apple I asked them if they can explain the difference and
similarities between the two apples. For example, Zach raised his hand and stated “ the two apples both have
seeds and a stem.” Then G.G states “ they both have different skin colors one is red , and the other is green.”
After that Olive raised her hand and said “even though they are different they both are equal.” In addition, for the
nature activity the kid showed they were learning by sharing the information they gathered with me. For
example, Jade came up to me and explained the lines she sees on one leave, but not the other.
Samantha came up to me and said “Look I found three flowers that are the same shape, but different colors.’’
When Samantha said that to me it made me happy because she stated the similarity and the difference between
her flowers.
I really do feel happy when the kids participate in my activities and enjoy it at the same time while learning new
things everyday.

2. Describe in detail how the children met/did not meet your behavioral objectives for this Lesson/Activity
Plan. If your objectives were not met, were inappropriate, or were not measureable, discuss why and how
you would change them in the future:

BO #
When I ask the children to name two (Diffrences) between the red and green apple. The children will be able to
answer it with In Thirty seconds. All the children who were in the class room met this behavioral objective they
all were able to tell me the difference about the apple because of this I for sure know they met the objective.

BO#2:
When I ask the children to name two ( similarities) between the red and green apple. The children will be able to
answer with in Thirty seconds. The kids totally met this objective because when I asked them this question they
all answered me because they new they new the similarities that red and green apple have.

BO#3:When the children paint using their self-made paintbrush. They will be able to identify the difference
between the regular paint brush and the one they are using. The children met this objective because when they
were painting with their self- made nature brush. All of them started to say that the brushes were different.

3. How will this information on learning and objectives impact your future plans (what will you do to add on
to the learning? How can you focus more on developing goals and objectives to increase learning?) :
My new learning objective should be more challenging for them. This is because since they now all mastered
the differences and similarities. I feel like the activities should be more challenging this will probably be done
by having the kid take homework assignment home.

Teaching Effectiveness:

1. Were each of the activities carried out as planned? What changes to your plan were made and why? Did the
changes enhance or detract from the activity?

Each of the activities carried out as planned but a few changes were made. For the multi culture activity.
Instead of reading the book “ same different “ by Calida Garcia Rawless. I used the book “Skin Again” by Bell
Hooks and illistraed by Chris Raschka. The changes enhanced the activity because the book focuses on racial
issues and personal identity. This book made the kids really interested in this topic, and so they kept on asking
question. Also, the book made the kids learn how important it is to not just look at a persons skin color, and
instead look on what on the inside.

2. Describe and explain the strengths of your Activity Lesson Plan and implementation: ]
My activities were interesting and a different subject for them especially the multi-cultural activity. In my
multi -cultural activity it allowed the children to have self -confidence and the acceptance of all types of
people including their selves. The nature inspired activity were the kids gathered outside nature items to create
a paint brush was actually really fun. It was fun because most of the kids enjoyed collecting different types of
flowers and levaes. As we were outside we discussed the different of leaves, flowers, and the weather.

3. Describe and explain the areas for improvements in your Activity Lesson Plan and implementation:

On the second day for the nature inspired activity as the kids were painting with the brushes they made. I thought it
would be a better idea if they were to paint outside instead of the inside. This is because if they were outside it
would have a better nature impact.

4. Describe and analyze the documentation that you collected (attach all documentation to this form) Make
sure to document the learning in terms of your written goals and objectives:

As, I mentioned in my lesson plan part I took picture and I made a observation sheet for the activities.

In this picture the kids went to the nature playground to find items for their
paint brush.
After I finished reading the book to the children. I started to
explain that no matter the different type of skin color, or the way
we look. We are all equal and capable of all things.

Aludra collect various types of flowers so she can make a colorful painting brush.
This was on Tuesday.
Jade was very happy after she created her paint brush out of flowers she collect on the Tuesday.

5. Reflect on your teaching experience. What did YOU learn from this activity?

I enjoyed doing this activities because it makes me happy when I saw the kids creating their own paint brush
and using their imaginations to make a their nature painting brush. Also, when the children told me that they
are going to teach their parents how to make the paint brush using natural resource such as leaves, and flowers
from their yard. From this activity I learned that kid are not afraid to ask questions if they are lost or confused,
and that they enjoy to learn new things each and every day.
