Baye’s Theorem
1. In a bolt factory machines A, B and C manufactures respectively 25%, 35% and 40% of total
output. Also out of these output of A, B, C 4%, 4% and 5% respectively are defective. A bolt
is drawn random from the total output and it is found to be defective, what is the
probability that it was manufactures by the machine A?
2. A box contains 4000 components of which 20% are defective. A second box contains 2000
components of which 10 % are defective. Third box contains 1000 components of which 5%
are defective. Fourth box contains 5000 components of which 25% are defective. A box is
chosen at random and an item selected was found to be defective. Find the probability that
this come from the Fourth box?
