For this assignment you will be asked to read about the evolution of U.S. Foreign policy over the
last century from the sources provided. You will then be asked to write down their differences
and similarities using the Venn diagram on the next page relating to the three eras chosen for this
unit. You will be divided into groups at the discretion of your teacher and work with your group
to determine any similarities and differences. Following this part of the activity, you will then
write down a brief summation of your thoughts as to why these changes occurred and if you
think that they were beneficial or not. Be prepared to share your thoughts with the rest of the
class. Please include at least 4 differences and 1 similarity between them in your diagram. You
may also cite any of your notes about U.S. Imperialism from the Guided Lecture.
