Local communities can continue to feel safe following a $2.8

million funding announcement for Crime Stoppers Victoria.
The announcement was part of the Victorian Government’s
Community Safety Statement, which will see the much-
needed funding delivered to Crime Stoppers Victoria over
the next four years.
Chief Executive, Erika Owens welcomed the funding
announcement.
“CSV plays a unique role in our community, as the only not-
for-profit crime intelligence and crime prevention service in
Victoria,” she said.
“As a charity we rely on the support of our generous
corporate partners and donors to support our mission: to
make Victoria a safer place for us all to work and live. We see
this funding as a wonderful endorsement by the Victorian
Government of all of the fantastic results we achieve every
year.”
In the first 30-years, 931,301 calls, contacts and online
reports were made to Crime Stoppers from the community,
resulting in 21,340 arrests and 85,051 charges laid across the
state during that time. MEET our students and teachers.
“It’s estimated that more than 50 percent of Victoria Police’s
overall intelligence holdings now come through the Crime
Stoppers unit,” Ms Owens said.

Chair of the Board of Directors, Mark Burke said the funding Bacchus Marsh

serve the community and keep them safe.
