#ASSIGNMENT 2

1. Find out the relation between Exponential and Trigonometrical Fourier series
coefficients. What is the Fourier series representation of the impulse train
denoted by s(t)= Σδ(t-nT0).

2.Determine the Fourier Transform of the signal exp(-t)u(t). From this result get
the frequency in rad/s for the 3dB Bandwidth if this signal is an impulse response
of an filter.

3.If the Fourier transform of a signal h(t) is H(W)=[2cosW][sin(2W)]/W then find

out the value of h(0).

4.Determine the transmission efficiency and the total power carried by the
sidebands of the AM wave for modulation index values of .5 and .3 respectively.

5.Draw the block diagram and explain the working principle for ring modulator for
DSB-SC generation. Mathematically show from the results whether it is a double
balanced modulator or not.

6.

What is the power of the output signal?

7.A signal is modulated as s(t)=m1(t)cos(2*pi*fc*t)+m2(t)cos(2*pi*fc*t). If the
Bandwidth of m1(t) is 10kHz and that of m2(t) is 15kHz . What is the Bandwidth of
s(t)?

8.Given a message signal m(t)=.5cos(W1*t)-.5sin(W2*t) . It is DSB-FC modulated

by the carrier frequency Wc. Determine the transmission efficiency of this
scheme.

9.The amplitude of a sinusoidal carrier is modulated by a single sinusoid to obtain

the amplitude modulated signal
s(t)=5cos(1600*pi*t)+2cos(1800*pi*t)+5cos(2000*pi*t). What is the value of the
modulation index?

10.The RMS antenna current of a AM transmitter is increased by 15% over its

unmodulated value. When sinusoidal modulation by 1kHz is applied determine
the modulation index.
