Warm greetings from the Officers and Board of Directors of APSOM!
Our 27th Annual Convention will be held on May 10 - 11 2018 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel, Doroteo
Jose, Sta. Cruz, Manila with the theme: “APSOM: Sustaining the Quality of Midwifery Education Amidst
the Challenges”. The convention will capacitate deans and faculty members on the standard
implementation of the new BSM curriculum; Revised Implementing Rules and Regulation of the RA
7392, the proposed clinical practicum guidelines and the standard implementation of the BSM
curriculum. This will also update the knowledge, skills and values of the administrators and faculty
members on the midwifery skills through lectures demo and return demonstration
In this regard, may we invite your Midwifery Dean/Principal, Academic/Clinical Coordinators and Faculty
Members to attend our Annual Convention. The registration fee are as follows: Pre- Registration:
P 6,500.00 (due on or before April 10, 2018) and On Site Registration: P 7,000. Registration fee includes
an overnight accommodation and meals (AM/PM Snacks, Lunch for 2 days and one Dinner), Convention
Kit, Certificate, and The Philippine Midwifery Journal. Please fill up the attached Registration Form, write

Objectives:
The convention aims to:
Capacitate deans and faculty members on the standard implementation of the new BSM
curriculum;
Orient deans and faculty members on the rules and regulations of PRC on Midwifery Practice;
Recognize the roles of dean and faculty members in the implementation of new BSM
curriculum;
Discuss the highlights of the clinical affiliation guidelines for the BSM and Diploma programs;
Reinforce professional ethics/ values to the deans and faculty members of midwifery schools;
Introduce social enterprise in managing school-owned birthing clinics;
Update faculty members on maternal and newborn skills.

We are very glad to inform you that we are holding the 2nd National Assembly of Midwifery Students on
May 9, 2018, at Grand Opera Hotel, Doroteo Jose St. Sta. Cruz, Manila with the theme: “Midwifery: Now
and Beyond”. The activity aims to bring together midwifery students from the different midwifery
schools to give them the challenges of midwifery profession and inculcate the importance of the
midwifery profession and recognize the placement of midwifery profession in the health care system.
This also includes lectures on evidenced-based practice through research and provide additional skills in
the skills enhancement activities of the student’s assembly.
In view of the above activity, may we invite your student organization officers and students from
different levels to attend the 1st National Assembly of Midwifery Students. Registration is P 1,250.00 for
live out participants (inclusive of AM/PM Snacks lunch and Kit). This is limited to 200 students only and
only pre- registered participants will be entertained during the activity. Payments for the registration
can be made through bank transactions:
