English 9 “Did I Miss Anything?” Narrative Assignment

El poema "¿Me he perdido algo?" Es a la vez cómico y serio al mismo tiempo; se sugiere
que mientras que nuestra ausencia de la clase podría no tener consecuencias
monumentales, sin duda alguna estaríamos perdiendo algo significativo. Además, el
poema sugiere que cada individuo desempeña un papel importante en la dinámica de un
grupo y / o el resultado de un evento. En pocas palabras, su presencia es importante
porque tú importas.

Tarea:

Escribe un relato personal acerca de un tiempo en tu vida (que puede implicar el hogar,
escuela, amigos, pasatiempos, etc.) que no te perderías poe nada en el mundo porque eras
un participante importante en el evento. En tu historia, revela la forma en que contribuíste
al evento o circunstancia. Debe quedar claro para el lector cómo el evento habría sido
diferente si no hubieras estado allí. Asegúrate de dejar en claro lo mucho que significaba
para que tú pudieras estar en ese lugar, y con ese cierto grupo de personas, en ese
momento determinado. También puedes considerar lo mucho que significaba para las
otras personas involucradas.

En tu narrativa, asegúrate de:

 Contar la historia de un evento que no hubieras querido perder porque sentías que
fueras una parte importante.
 Describir cómo te sentías siendo una parte importante de este evento o cómo el
evento podría haber sido diferente de no haber estado allí.

Como buen escritor de narrative debes incluir:

 Una introducción a tu historia (capturar el interés de su lector!)
 Detalles sensoriales
 Diálogo
 Transiciones
 Estructuras de frases variadas
 Un título para su historia (esperar hasta después de que haya completado su
historia)

Como editor de cuidado, asegúrese de comprobar:

 La gramática, puntuacion, y la ortografía

Nothing. When we realized you weren’t here

we sat with our hands folded on our desks
in silence, for the full two hours.

Everything. I gave an exam worth

40 percent of the grade for this term
and assigned some reading due today
on which I’m about to hand out a quiz
worth 50 percent.

Nothing. None of the content of this course

has value or meaning-
Take as many days off as you like:
any activities we undertake as a class
I assure you will not matter either to you or me
and are without purpose.

Everything. A few minutes after we began last time

a shaft of light suddenly descended and an angel
or other heavenly being appeared
and revealed to us what each woman or man must do
to attain divine wisdom in this life and
the hereafter.
This is the last time the class will meet
before we disperse to bring the good news to all people
on earth.

Nothing. When you are not present

how could something significant occur?

Everything. Contained in this classroom

is a microcosm of human experience
assembled for you to query and examine and ponder
This is not the only place such an opportunity has been
gathered

but it was one place…

And you weren’t here.
