Alexander The Great is not Great

“The truth is that Alexander is one of the most famous people in history”
Alexander the Great was born in 356 bce and there's a problem remembering him as
fact or legend. He’s from Macedonia and at that same time , his father philip, ruled over
Macedonia as his empire. When Philip was assassinated in 336 bce, the empire was
passed on to Alexander the Great at the age of 20. He rules over persia area and he
has an he controls his empire with originated from Macedonia. Alexander the great was
define greatness at his time and now today but this evidence will show that alexander
the great wasn't so great after all. Alexander the Great should be remembered as not
great because he had no order in his battle tactics and direction, after death his empire
could have lasted longer, and showing no mercy to no one.

Alexander the great is not great because he had no order in his battle tactics and
direction. He has no order in his battle tactics because once he left Macedonia he just
attacked any area that he hadn't ruled over yet and kept doing that when he progressed
through persia(Doc A). He was going in circles and took over whatever he saw that was
in front of him. He just wanted to take over everything and had no strategy in his battle
tactics. Some might say that Alexander had great battle tactics because he defeated
porus by circling around him and porus men then attacked them. This is the only time
he does this strategy but alexander does not do it to all the places he takes over in
persia. Alexander goes in with brutal force with no order.

Another reason Alexander the great was not great because after death, his
empire could have lasted longer. When alexander the great went to india with his crew,
some of his men stayed there and had taken women there to be with them. Alexander
the great left some of his men there and he could of had a women that can birth his
child so when alexander the great dies, then someone can take over the empire.
Alexander not having a kid with a women shows that he thinks of himself now and not
thinking of himself in the future. He thinks that he will live on forever and not pass
away(docf). After the death of alexander the great, his empire lasted for 10 more years
then it fell apart(doce). After his death, the child that alexander should've had would of
taken over the empire.The empire could of lasted for more then 10 years. Having his
empire lasting longer could of shown that he was beyond great but he let it fall for only
thinking of himself.

Finally, Alexander the great is not great because he showed no mercy to no one.
When alexander's had fell into the water, one of his men went to help him get the hat
from the water. Once one of his men went to get the hat, they put it on so they would be
able to swim, he gave the hat back to alexander the great then the man was ordered to
have his head cut off(docD). Alexander the great didn't have no choice to kill that man
because the prophets explained that “he should not allow the head that had worn the
royal head band to be safe”. This shows that alexander didn't want no man to try to de
throne him so he had to kill the man. Even though he’s loyal to his men, he will kill any
of them no matter what happens even if they help him out. Alexander also didn't show
no mercy to the estimated enemy soldiers and civilians that he killed in four major
battles(100,000) Doc e. Alexander kills whatever is in front of him and ruthless to all
civilians that are in any area of him. Shows that he is ruthless and not a caring leader
and he is just blood thirsty to kill everything.

Alexander the great was not great because he had no order in his battle tactics
and direction, after death, his empire could have lasted longer, and he showed no
mercy to no one. He killed whatever was in front of him. Alexanders empire could of
lasted longer if he would of passed it down to someone. He was ruthless and a bloody
thirsty leader.
