DAY 1 – BACK TO BASICS
A. VOCABULARY
1. Nouns
(a) Identify a Subject Noun and translate to BM.

Sentence Subject Noun (BI) Meaning (BM)

Father drives to office every day.

My sister buys meat at the market.

The boy carries a big bag to school.

The waiter pours the orange juice into a cup.

 A noun is a name word.
 It is used to identify people, animals, places and things.
 A subject noun is a noun that performs the action of the verb in the sentence.

2. Verbs
(a) Add a suitable VERB to the Subject-Verb Pair

 A verb is an action word.
 It is used to show the activity of the subject in a sentence.

3. Verbs and Nouns
(a) Cut out as many CLOZE TEXT questions as possible, from your old English
Language books and paste them into your MBBB (My Big Blue Book)
(b) Write down the SITUATION or LOCATION or THEME of the picture
(c) Identify all the SUBJECT NOUNS in the picture from the text.
(d) Rewrite the text, using the SVO (Subject-Verb-Object) format. Name the PARTS OF
SPEECH for every word used in the sentence.

(e) ANALYSE a sentence
e.g. Suria is a prefect at SK Seri Maju.

(f) CREATE a new sentence, almost SIMILAR to (e) by changing the object noun.
e.g. Suria is a library assistance at SK Seri Maju.

(g) CREATE another sentence, but this time change the subject noun and verb.
e.g. Fatimah and Devi are prefects at SK Seri Maju.

(h) REPEAT steps (e) to (g) for every type of sentence you find in the cloze text.
e.g. There are rows and rows of tall bookshelves.

B. BEYOND VOCABULARY
 By doing the above analysis you will be introduced to the various types of
SENTENCE STRUCTURE which exists in the English language
 By replacing the words in a sentence with similar words, you will appreciate
the CONTEXT they are being used in each sentence.
 You will realise that VOCAB POWER is not just about NOUNS and VERBS.
 There are other types of words that you must know in your journey to be good
at Engish.
 You will find it difficult to grasp the concept of PARTS OF SPEECH at first but it
will become easier with practice
 Therefore, it is important that you LEARN and MASTER the various PARTS OF
SPEECH in order for you to do the analysis and words replacement.
 No pain, no gain. The city of Rome was not built in a day. It was also not built
in 30 days but I believe your English CAN BE IMPROVED drastically within 30
days from today if you are WILLING to WORK HARD.
 You just have to follow the proper STUDY METHOD which is:
1. Have the Right Mindset – KNOW what you WANT, HOW & WHEN to GET it
2. Read your Books – Focus on ONE book at a time
3. Make your Notes – Paraphrase the notes in your own words
4. Practice Practice Practice – OUTPUT Learning
5. Revise ALL – Repetition is the KEY to MASTERY
6. Reward Yourself – Be a ROPe (Results Oriented Person) because deep
down in their heart, every human being wants to be successful in their life.
