İSKİ (Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration) is responsible for the water infrastructure of
Istanbul Province.

The Büyükçekmece Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant and Büyükçekmece Lake,
an important drinking water source of İSKİ, are totally free of pollution risk. The plant averages
132,000 cubic meters of polluted water treatment per day. Thus, it contributes significantly to the
protection of nature.

In 2015–2016, a system for the visualization and control of the operation of the treatment plant
was implemented by Halıcı Elektronik. For this purpose, the Reliance SCADA/HMI system Implemented by

Using the CODESYS OPC Server, the data collected from the PLCs (motor, valve, and instrument 5 x Reliance 4 Web Client
values) is transmitted to the Reliance SCADA system. For historical purposes, alarms/events and 5 x Reliance 4 Smart Client
sensor data (levels, conductivity, volumetric analysis, turbidity, etc.) are recorded using Reliance's Modbus Communication Driver
servers, for which data server redundancy is used. Reliance Web Client monitors the system from CODESYS OPC Server
remote locations over the Internet. In addition, operators use Reliance Smart Client on their
tablets. The Reliance system is installed on five workstations (the director's office, laboratory,
sludge dewatering building, operator's room, and engineering computer). Any changes made to
the Reliance visualization project on the engineering computer are automatically processed on
the other computers.
