Geometry Course Syllabus

For 2017-18 School Year

Office Hours: 7:00-7:30AM Monday to Friday; Period 2 Mon-Fri; or any day after 4PM by appointment

Course Overview: Geometry is an amazing subject to study. In many ways Geometry is the
blueprint of the universe. Over the centuries some incredibly smart people have interpreted this
blueprint and I have the privilege of sharing a small part of their discoveries with you. I hope you’ll
enjoy it. And now the key to success in this class: consistency. Consistently being there and
consistently doing your best. Please remember I am here to help you and I will help you as much
you want!

Grading Policy: As a professional teacher I am accountable for my work each day I come to
school (and for many hours outside of school). One of my responsibilities is to help you learn the
accountability you’ll need to have in college and the workplace. I do this by grading your work
every day and by not allowing late assignments (except for special circumstances of course).

Grading 40%.......Classwork (includes warmup, classwork, notebook, exit ticket, etc.)


Percentages 30%.......Homework (includes Big Ideas Practice & Khan Academy assignments)
30%.......Assessment (includes quizzes, unit tests, & performance tasks)

Final Exam: there is also a course final which will count for a percentage determined by school policy.
