1. INTRODUCTION

1.1. Scope
This specification covers the general requirement for Belt Weigher to be used in
Rembang Project.

1.2. References and Codes and Standards


The International Bureau of Weights and Measures
Others standards.

1.3. Conflict and Alternate Proposal


In case of conflict between various codes, standards and this specification, the most
stringent of the requirements shall govern, however, should a level of stringency be
undeterminable, the discrepancies shall be resolved as follows :
a. Local Codes and Standards shall take precedence over all documents.
b. International Codes and Standards shall take precedence over this Specification.
c. This Specification shall take precedence over the drawings.
Apart from the above Codes and Standards, manufacturer/supplier is totally
responsible to get “type approval license” or to meet requirements from the relevant
local statutory authorities.

2. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The system design and selection of materials and equipment shall be suitable for operation in
service conditions typical of oil and gas industry installations onshore. The outdoor

3. GENERAL SPECIFICATION
A belt-conveyor scale shall be equipped with a primary indicating element for continuous
acquisition of flow rates and totalized amounts and also shall be equiped with weigher
measuring system for continuous weighing in continuous production processes.
In the Rembang Project shall be used and applied the Multi-Idler Belt Weighers system with
the Weighing Electronic Measuring system for continuous weighing in continuous product
processes.

4. SINGLE - IDLER BELT WEIGHERS

4.1. Application
Single-Idler Belt Weighers are used for continuous acquisition of flow rates and
totalized amounts. They are especially designed for integration into continuously
operating belt conveyors and enable accuracies of up to ± 0.25% to be achieved.
They can be employed for a whole variety of tasks :
a. Throughout and consumption measurement in production plants
b. Accountability of stored and retrieved amounts
c. Load limit alarm
d. Batching, in load-out stations
e. Legal-for-trade weighing
f. Prefeeder control.
Their rugged design ensures a high degree of reliability and availability.

4.2. Construction
The standard Single-idler belt weigher comprises :
a. Weighing platform for accommodating user´s idler sets
b. Overload-protected load cell(s) with high degree of protection
c. Cable junction box for connection of sensors
d. All fixing elements required for mounting

And shall be able to provide speed measurement and various speed transducers e.g.
friction wheel tachometers if required.

4.3. Operating Principle


Belt Weighers are used to acquire continuous material flows of varying amounts. Load
cells acquire the weight of load on particular belt sections. The longer the belt section
is, the less the measuring result is affected by external influences. In addition to belt
load acquired by load cells, belt speed is measured by a speed transducer. The product
of these two variables is the current flow rate. Integration of flow rate determines the
totalized amount of material.

4.6. Accuracy
Specified accuracies refer either to nominal (maximum) flow rate or to the
corresponding actual flow rate in the range of 20 % to 100%.

5. WEIGHING ELECTRONIC MEASURING SYSTEM

5.1. Application
Weighing Electronic Measuring System shall be specially designed for continuous
weighing in continuous production processes. It is to be able for maesuring and
acquiring material flow with high accuracy. In these case need to use of :
a. Belt weighers
b. Solid flow meters
c. Coriolis mass flow meters
Weighing Electronic Measuring System shall be covers special application, e.g. legal
for trading (if required) and should be designed for application with a need for
convenient elaborate display, control and monitoring, in addition to basic measuring
functions, and it also shall be ensures repeatability and transparancy of the production
process.

5.2. Equipment Type


The equipment type shall be a front of panel mounting unit or with wall mounting
housing for local installation. Operation of measuring system is by keyboard organized
into operating and service function. A luminescent, anti glare two line display must be
provide to ensure easy reading.

As a function of mechanical system actual feed rate is acquired using :

7. PERFORMANCE AND GUARANTEE


7.1 Equipment shall be guaranteed for the satisfactory performance at all operating
conditions specified. Field checks on performance when made by Owner, shall be made
within 60 days of the initial operation.
7.2 All equipment and parts shall be warranted by the Supplier against defective materials,
design and workmanship for One (1) year after being placed in service (but not more
than 18 months after the shipment).

7.3 If any mal-performance or defects occur during the guarantee and warranty period, the
Supplier shall make all necessary alterations, repairs and replacements free of charge.
7.4 Prior to initial verification, the scale manufacturer or installer shall certify to the owner
that the scale meets code requirements. Prior to initial verification and each subsequent
verification, the scale owner or his agent shall notify the official with statutory authority in
writing that the belt-conveyor scale system is in compliance with this specification and
ready for material testing.

8. DOCUMENTATION

8.1 The Vendor shall furnish an adequate drawings and documentation package.
8.2 All documentation shall be provided with the Purchaser's project number, a
documentation identification number, purchase order number, marked with the issue
date, revision identifiers, and provided in the English language. The Purchaser requires
unlimited internal copying rights to all documentation supplied.
8.2 All drawings and specifications shall be supplied with both paper printout and electronic
files. Source files shall be implemented by means of Autocad 2014 or latest version and
Microsoft Office suite. Where standard drawings and documentation, which can not be
produced with Autocad are supplied, the source files provided to the Company shall be
Acrobat.
