Human Trafficking

Hathaway, Brooke endslaverynow.org,(2018)

This website states that most people that become victims are not only forced for sex
labor. They get sucked into becoming physical labor as well. Most people are uneducated in the
dangers of this. The people that get caught they usually are detained for criminal activity for
example prostitution.

The author of this magazine states that Florida has become the third in the entire nation
for Human Trafficking. Over 30 million people are victims of Human trafficking and most of
them are women and children. The number of LGBTQ victims is rising and this could be
considered a hate crime towards them as well. This magazine also states how you can tell if
someone is a victim or not. Usually these people have no information, don’t know where they
live or what school they attended.

The book Biblical Approaches to Human Trafficking they ignore the fact the number of
child victims have been increasing but instead they prefer to focused on slavery and the sex
trade. As the author states “we must work together to fulfil the demand of the gospel and set the
captives free”. This is a great resource because it talks about the Human Trafficking and about
god.

In Thailand over a 12 people were convicted because of an organization on Human

trafficking. Many dead bodies were found in a secret jungle camp and they were abused

horribly and tortured. This was a million-dollar company and over 103 people were able to

plead not guilty because there was no proof that they were actually involved.

In this source they talk personally on their personal experience working with human
trafficking. They were promised to work for a well payed steel company, but on the contrary
they worked for 6 days a week and got paid the minimum and nothing at all. There were over
39 workers that were involved in this scam. This is a really good source to use because it talks
about the personal experience being in the system itself.

This article speaks about how human trafficking victims were used to be a part of the

pornography industry forcefully. Human trafficking is not only that they sell others off into the

black market. They use these humans to their advantage and do anything in their will to receive

all the money they can by ruining others’ lives. This article made me realize that there is more

to human trafficking then to just selling people off.

The reason the Swazi march against Human Trafficking and gender-based violence is
because in the article it states that many of us talk about how something needs to be done
about this. In reality no one does anything about it so this group decide to stand up and make a
difference. The Swazi catholic community is very small and most of the population is H.I.V
positive because the health care is only provided to the bigger regions. Most of the crimes go
unreported and everyone is afraid to speak up about them.

In this article it states all the information on what human trafficking and what kind of
people is are victims of it. Human trafficking is a crime that they forced other people to provide
labor or sexual acts by threatening and harming them. Victims of human trafficking are usually
all types of people but more specifically they go for poor, vulnerable, unstable people. Many of
the times through prostitution they lure someone in.
