FOCUS OF LESSON: Students will learn the two different passings skills used in
NitroBall, the bump and set.
STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES (SPO):
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
(P) Demonstrate competency with the set and bump during gameplay by successfully
returning both to the other side of the court. (National # S2.H1.L2; MACF # 2.17;
Task/Activity # Activities 2)
(C) Understand and repeat at least 1 skill cue of the bump and set by the end of the
lesson. (National # S1.H3.L1; MACF # 2.12; Task/Activity # Informing & Closure)
(A) Apply safe practices, rules, procedures, and sportsmanship etiquette during
gameplay. (National # S4.H2.L1; MACF # 2.12; Task/Activity # Activity 3)
1. During the lesson, the teacher will weight for silence before starting to give
instructions, instead of talking over the students.
2. The teacher will try to learn names, by calling on different students and asking
them to say their name before answering the question.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
● If students seem to be fooling around with their partner, the teacher will re pick partners
to keep students more on task.
● The NitroBalls are very fragile, please do not kick them.
