Students were fully aware of what was expected of them during the lesson as there
were clear learning aims and objectives and the lesson was well planned. Good
evidence of differentiation to meet individual needs. Very good links to previous
learning which allowed students to build on their previous knowledge. As a result,
good progress was made by the majority of learners.

There was a good range of assessment strategies including assessment forlearning

and assessment of learning. Students' learning was regularly checked which gave
them confidence to progress to more complex activities. Sudents therefore made
good progress in relation to their starting point.

There was a good pace to the lesson which matched most learners' needs and level,
Students were engaged and felt confident especially when faced with new or more
challenging situations. Learner interest was maintained throughout due to the
animated delivery and enthusiastic approach.

There were very good links made throughout the lesson to employability skills and
reference to student work experience placement. This made the learning relevant
for the student so that they could apply what they were learning to real life situations.

There was very good use of extension techniques such as questioning which
streteched and challenged the more able learners. There was also clear evidence
of support for the less able learners.

There was good use of You Tube clips to give practical examples of dealing with
challenging behaviour but care needs to be taken in the management of these
activities to ensure that all learners are learning and actively involved.
