The peer reviewed article is about two studies of undergraduate students engaged in

practical class activities in two modalities: in a face-to-face class, and online. They took a

place at an Australian university to examine students’ academic marks, preferences, and

performances. The different two groups of participants in the two studies were third-year

undergraduate psychology students. Both were at the same higher level of education, but

the participants of the second study have not had any experience with online classes and

its technology. What were not expected were the results of the two studies, which were

similar because each group’s mean preference of written activities and discussions were

the same. They preferred having in class discussions and online written activities.

Participants illustrated that having discussions in class were easier and smoother, and you

got the feedback faster. However, in the online discussions, you need to wait hours or

days to receive a comment on your questions and reflections. Moreover, there were no

differences in the academic marks for the two modalities. Therefore, the researchers of

these studies have come to a realization that online classes are as useful and strong as the

traditional classes, but they stated at the end that online classes can never replace the

US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health database. This peer

reviewed article is informative and relevant. Therefore, it will help me a lot in my

research because of two aspects. First, since I am not with either side or method of

teaching, this article will help me know more about each method to support each side

arguments in my research. Second, this article has explained to me why I am struggling

in my online class this semester. Therefore, having this article in my research would help

me explain to the people who are struggling like me and want to get better grades and

involved in their classes.

The online article demonstrates how you can choose the best class format, face to screen

or face to face by listing the advantages and disadvantages of taking online classes. First,

the author lists the advantages of taking online classes or programs. After listing them,

the author goes in depth for each advantage explaining how this advantage works.

Second, after taking in details for each advantage, the author transfers to talk about the

other side, which is the disadvantages of online classes by using the same method he used

introduction to begin to talk about the online requirements. The author lists all the online

requirements in detail to inform the audience of what they should expect. Fourth, the

author clarifies that there are two types of online classes that you need to take into

consideration: Synchronous and Asynchronous. Synchronous is when the student needs

to meet at a scheduled time weekly, and he or she participates in. Asynchronous is when

the student can log in to his or her class to complete his or her assignments at a time that

is most convenient for him or her. Fifth, the author concludes his or her article by giving

tips in order to succeed in online classes and programs. Moreover, when I found this

source, I thought that it was not reliable because it is on a website where they only talk

about online programs, so I thought it is biased to the online format side. However, when

I read all the article, I changed my point of view because the authors’ main points were

linked to outside sources that support her or his arguments and points. Therefore, I think

it is trustworthy and will help me a lot. In addition, the MyCollegeGuide website has been

around for 25 years. Therefore, I think that there is no reason will not let me trust this

website with these experiences. This article will be a useful source in my research

because of two reasons. First, since I will be researching to find the answer to my

question, which is what is better for us, students, between online and traditional classes I

should know some advantages and disadvantages for each one of them, and this article

will help me a lot in the area. Second, I will be able to give tips in my research to the

degrees and classes. First, the author talks about the University of Phoenix, and how they

added a career-counseling service for its graduating students because the university used

to not have one in the past. The author talks about the big problem of unemployment to

get the audiences’ attention. Second, Ms. Webley touches on some studies about the

growth in online education over the past decade to inform how important it is. Third, she

explains that some for-profit universities are the issue because they only care about filling

their pockets with money. Fourth, Ms. Webley starts to give ways that universities could

help their students get jobs. The ways that Ms. Webley gives in her article were taken

from universities that have successfully attracted companies to take their students. For

example, she talked about how Western Governors University administrators allow

employers to ask for advice on curriculum development and other aspects of their

programs, and that helped them shape their students for their future jobs and made them

be sought after. Finally, Ms. Webley answered the question of the article, “Can an online

degree really help you get a job?” She concludes yes after telling how universities could

improve their programs. From my point of view, I believe that the audiences to this

article are universities that want to make its programs more beneficial and want its

students to get hired when they graduate. In addition, the article has a lot of studies and

ways that were examined by universities to improve their programs. Therefore, I can say

that this source is reliable by its significant information. This web article is invaluable to

my research because it will use the studies and ways that its author talked about to

improve online programs and classes. How will it make my research look better? It will

make it look better by being able to give some ways and advice that some universities

gave to be viewed as a credible credential by employers. I will talk about the

disadvantage of online degrees, which is the employers’ trustworthiness of traditional

degrees.

The web article explains how employers see students who take online classes in order to

get their Bachelor degree when they want to hire an employee for a position. First, Ms.

Zupek brings many points of view from employers who own companies, so she can make

sure that her evidence is reliable. Second, she says some advantages of studying in online

programs. For example, she talked about some people’s experiences who were not going

to succeed without being able to study in these kinds of programs. Third, she explains

some disadvantages that some students face while taking this kind of program. Finally,

she touches on ways to get a certified degree. The credentials of Ms. Zupek are that she

has written for many well-known websites, such as CareerBuilder.com and CNN.

Therefore, you can tell that she is not with any side of the comparison between the face to

face and the online classes because what she wants is finding the right job and making it

work for people who are looking for jobs. In addition, all the sources she used are reliable

because they were taken from real experiences and from surveys and studies that were

done. For example, she talked about a survey that was done by online institution

Excelsior College and Zogby International where there was a percentage of entrepreneurs

around the world saying that online degrees are as beneficial as the campus classes

program. This source will be useful to my research because my research is about what is

better for students the face to face or online classes. Moreover, in this article, Ms. Zupek

gives and talks about the good and bad sides of studying online, which will help me in
my research to understand and know what is better.
