The configuration file is stored in the Install folder C:\Program Files\MTECH Systems\Cloud
Indicator.
This file contains the following settings for connection of the serial port .
[Connect]
COMMENT: serial port to connect to.
port=2
COMMENT: baud rate, usually 9600
baud=9600
COMMENT: word length, stop bits, parity. Usually 8,1,0
wordlength=8
stopbits=1
parity=0
Open 'cloud indicator.ini' located in the cloud indicator install directory (usually C:\Program
Files\Mtech Systems\Cloud Indicator)
In the Connect section change the baud value to the baud rate of the ceilometer, then save.
Run cloud Indicator again, if there is still unreadable data change the wordLength, stopBits
and parity to the correct values (Usually 8,1,0).
You can also add a Logging Section to 'cloud indicator.ini' with a field called enabled, set it to
false to prevent it from logging any errors to a file, these error will still be logged on screen
(note: if this field doens't exist logging to files will be enabled by default).

It is now commonplace for notebooks and even desktop computers to not have a serial port
fitted.
In this case a serial to USB converter needs to be added, or a serial port card can be added
to the machine
Install this according to the instructions, and set the port address in the application to the
same port as in the interface device. Set the baud rate to the same as the Ceilometer.
Serial to USB adapters vary. MTECH cannot test everyone on the market. The software
works with a built in comport or comport card.
